Congregation Pledge Disgusted Elder
by rrb2016 inat the meeting the other night, the elder who had to read the announcements, which included the $$ info for the new donation arrangement seemed downright disgusted as he read the announcements and asked for the vote.
he said, "well, here is another organizational change" as he read the letter about the discontinuation of the 2nd meeting during co visit.
then after they voted, he said if you have any questions ask this other elder as if he wanted nothing to do with it.

There is no Santa Claus , no Easter bunny , and NO PARADISE!
by stuckinarut2 inwitnessing yesterday, i had a few little ones in the group chattering away excitedly to me about the things they look "forward to in the paradise":.
"i'm going to have three horses, a big house and lots of pretty flowers etc".
after i left, it hit me "like a ton of bricks"!......this is no different to the way that kids "in the world" believe in a santa claus, easter bunny, tooth fairy etc.... then they wake up when old enough and realise that it was all lies...make believe....stories etc, all told to them by parents and older ones!

All I did say was..."we'll, we can't just take the house and horses.... they belong to someone else...we would have to buy our own after working hard to earn money"

Yes, it made me both angry and upset...
I love the kids in our cong....but I am so sad that they live with a fairy tale view of the future, while thinking that everyone who is not a witness now is evil and worth being destroyed! (even the expression "being destroyed" just rolls of the tongue of witnesses doesnt it!?)
I woke up to reality while in my very late 30's....when the strength and opportunities of youth are slipping away....
Therefore, I hate to see little ones in witness families are going down the same path...
I feel like screaming out "you have youth, strength and opportunities now ....pursue them and enjoy the gift of life!"

Well, our "parents" (the organisation) has been telling us "kids" fibs as well!
Makes me angry!

Would You Become A JW Again If Local Congregations Could Become Independent?
by Space Madness infor those who still believe in god, if local congregations could break away from the watchtower would you consider becoming a witness again.
this would mean no more governing body, circuit overseers, watchtower magazines, and each congregation could have its own "new light".
most of us left because of the control (no college, disfellowsipping) but if the watchtower was out of the picture, all of this would disappear.

It sounds like the op just misses the social side of things...?
if real thought is put into it, then jw's are not jw's without the "organisation" behind them...
go join another church if you feel a spiritual need...or a sports team or social group if you want like minded friends....

Bible Atrocities
by Trapped in JW land ini really can't wrap my head around how people can still consider god loving with such atrocious biblical accounts such as, 1 samuel 15, (god ordering the slaughter of amelikite baby's and children) 2nd kings 2, forgot the verses (god sending bears to maul 42 children) and many others.have you ever asked a witness or anyone elsewhat they think about these accounts?
what was their response?
i'd love to ask one, but unfortunately i'm still physically in the cult and i wouldn't want to raise any suspicions.

So the bible says a few times that "god is the same yesterday, today and into the future". "He doesn't change etc..."
So, how can we live in an enlightened time, based mostly on the premises of "Christian teachings and morality", and yet look at such contrary accounts as being 'OK'? Would yew be ok allowing someone to act in a similar way in our society, just because they say they have "gods blessing"? NO! They would be punished....
Also, 'cold steel', if you are trying to be a good Christian witness and defend such accounts on a forum like this, you have already disobeyed the very same god (and his supposed organisation) by even discussing matters on an "apostate" website forum!
What are you trying to prove?
Desperate for some field service time hey?
Pathetic ... Trying to defend such atrocities!

"women who complained that former jehovahs witness elder jonathan rose, 40, had molested them as children relived their nightmares in front of him after he was released from jail".

It depends on the elder / servant body....
And recently of course the last co visit had a special meeting encouraging all inactive to be followed up by the elders and servants...
