Well said bible examiner!
The TRUTH of such history is quite different to that which the society says!
Hypocrites indeed.
this info is from the article "who is leading god's people today" feb 17 study edition.. to help them disseminate bible truth in various languages, zion’s watch tower tract society was legally incorporated in 1884, with brother russell as president.
* he was an outstanding student of the bible, and he fearlessly exposed as false such doctrines as the trinity and the immortality of the soul.
he discerned that christ would return invisibly and that “the appointed times of the nations” would end in 1914.. pretty sickening article overall about how badass the gb is, though this little gem is printed as well, paragraph 12. the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.

Thanks Paul. Your hard work helps so many every day! We respect your hard work greatly!
most of us here have gone through, or are going through the various stages "cognitive dissonance".. this is a term used to describe a situation where our minds, and hearts just know that something is "not quite right", and therefore we find ourselves in a muddle trying to reconcile the things we know with the things we are hearing or being told.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_dissonance.
so just wondering, how many of you found yourselves (or still find yourselves) becoming phyiscally ill in some way during the time of fading?.
i know that when i look back, for several years even before i was awake to the many issues and facts about the society, i would feel ill at assemblies or conventions.
Great comments!
Thanks!

Yes, they are appealing to the very culture and lifestyle that has been criticised for over a century!
Hypocrisy at its finest!
Come on guys....and any witness defenders out there: tell me it's not true!
i remember a few years back at a circuit assembly, a few bros were introducing themselves to the co, they made sure to mention that they were an ms or an elder from such and such cong.
i was also an ms, but was the only one that introduced themselves by just my first name.
i was so irritated and blown away at the arrogance by these bros, trying to impress men with titles!
Oh yes!! Great thread!
This ALWAYS bugged me.
The hypocrisy between what is said and what is practiced is outstanding in this regard.
The position one has is EVERYTHING in witness wold! Titles are EVERYTHING!
So too is making it known when one does something for another. So much for "let not your right hand know what your left is doing"!

Hi all!

I know that when I look back, for several years even before I was awake to the many issues and facts about the society, I would feel ill at assemblies or conventions. Often serious migraines would occur. I would put it down to the stresses of the day or getting ready or travelling there etc...BUT....
Now too, when I observe witnesses, I see that SO MANY of them are not happy...or seem so VERY STRESSED out in their daily lives. Like life is such a chore or burden - not a joy. Is that cognitive dissonance at play?
Thoughts? Experiences?
this is absolutely feckin' priceless.. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/videos/viewpoints-origin-of-life/petr-muzny-law-professor/.
in yet another appeal to authority, jw.org has trotted out a professional to vouch for creation.
this guy is a law professor.
Oh the irony is absolutely outstanding!
when i left the org, the jw's tried their best to guilt trip me.
some of the questions i was asked and things i was told:.
"how could you possibly be happy outside of jehovah's organization?
How about the classic : "you must be a secret sinner if you choose to leave the truth"
i began my exit from the jehovah’s witness organization about 5 years.
i was a 4th generation born-in, with all the baggage that comes with having the “spiritual heritage” attached to the group.
i was an elder/bethelite/pioneer/whatever other useless privilege there was, i had no family or friends outside of the organization… my entire life was that org.
I was giving more thought to your post, and please forgive me, but I must say:
Just go and see him.
No raised voices or arguments toward other members of the family...just go and say "hello"
You are entitled to do so, and you know he will be receptive.
Time runs out...people are not always with us...so perhaps just pay a dignified visit and don't allow anyone to take the conversation in a direction that causes issues.

WOW!!
Best post ever! Well done Paul!
I also was told by a wise person when I left "stay dignified, because you never know what effect your actions will have on many, many others...and you may never know of it!"
I guess that is why the society tries to demonise any who fade or disassociate by painting us as wicked or sinful! To try and stop the ripples from spreading! Cult behaviour 101!
