Just maintain your dignity and poise. Be the same nice person you always have been.
It messes with their heads when we are nice!
i have a certain customer, whom we will call sally.
i know sally only by face and only through work.
i am a truck driver on a local dedicated route, and i often deliver to her work.

i know this has been discussed over the years on this forum, but i just had to post this again!.
it seems that the popular fad amongst the "spiritual" ones in the local circuits is to home school their children instead of sending them to school.. now to clarify, we are in a very nice area of semi rural australia .
one with very community minded, and strong family values.
It has wisely often been said that parents should never teach their own teenager to drive, but should rather have a trained driving instructor teach them. Otherwise, the teenage may not take the lessons seriously, or listen to the directions. Also, the bad driving habits of the parents may simply be adopted by the teenager.
Similar situation to education?
not too long ago, i posted a topic where i pointed out that there are about 1 million xjws alive right now.
that number only represented the disfellowshipped ones... didn't account for those who had become publishers and left or anyone else who got hurt by that group by proxy.
so, why are there so few of them online?
A goal of many is to become "Ex Ex Jehovah's Witnesses"
In other words, to get to point where the JW history no longer dominates one's life....

All the ones I know who are being home schooled here have become emotionally and socially stunted in their development.
It really is a form of abuse to do that to ones children!
i've been thinking about this for a while.. did jesus diee on a cross?
does it really matter?
it doesn't change anything that i can see.. is god a trinity?
The reality is, we may NEVER know the specifics of many things and doctrines...and that is OK.
It is OK to not know everything.

Great comments!
The Searcher especially nailed it!
so i went to the kh for the first time in a month, and the first brother in our congregation has grown a full beard.
i am in a western u.s. semi-rural area in a cong with an extremely conservative and controlling elder body.
oddly enough, it seemed like people were going out of their way to converse with him and act like they didn't notice the beard or they complimented the beard.
Check out jwfacts.com
Paul has produced a great article and video (YouTube it) about the beard situation

I'm guessing that he is not an appointed man?
There is NO WAY an appointed man, (elder or ms or pioneer) would be allowed to get away with it, no matter what that article said.
I know of a recent situation in a developed land (Australia) where a brother who grew a beard was counselled for "a brazen attitude" for keeping his beard after an elder told him to remove it.
It was a neat and very well groomed beard too.
He shaved it off like a meek man should....
And yet they say this is not a cult....!

Now to clarify, we are in a very nice area of semi rural Australia . One with very community minded, and strong family values. Not an area known for delinquent children or families. I mean, graffiti doesn't even appear anywhere!
From one congregation alone, there is now 4 families who home school! And this is even from the age of 5 onwards!
So these children will never have the opportunity to interact, or learn to get along with others. They will never know how to develop good social skills. They will be isolated and miss out on all the necessary aspects of growing up with peers - both for good or for bad....
It seems like it is a badge of honor amongst local witnesses to do this now.
Makes me mad...and sad for those children who will suddenly find themselves as adults in a world that they will not know how to live in or assimilate with.....
jehovah's witnesses cannot do a lot of things.
i remember pioneers having to quit their jobs because they could not work in a convenience store and sell cigarettes.
i know of a young man who was offered a scholarship to any college or university if he wanted to go to because of his football abilities.
Live a normal life where parents would encourage me to pursue things I was interested in or good at!
Such as various sporting codes! I could have excelled at some sports.
And just to be allowed to develop my own personality and interests instead of having prescribed interests put on to me
