Thanks for posting!
“there may be occasions when it would be good for us to reconsider a choice or decision.
it could be when the prevailing circumstances change.
jehovah altered his decision at times when circumstances changed.

one thing over the years social media has made me painfully aware of is how many times i see someone use the phrase "i'll pray for you" and the outcome is bad.
recently a friend of mine who at one time was my manager where i worked got cancer.
a lot of people were praying for him.
fyi.
bbc panaroma tv - contaminated blood: the search for the truth.
10 may 2017. it has been called the worst treatment disaster in the history of the nhs.
Witnesses used to condemn the Panorama show for being "biased journalism" back when it exposed the child abuse issue amongst the society!
Now Witnesses will praise the show as being "enlightening proof".....
i've been thinking about the changes we make within ourselves after leaving the wts cult.
i'm not referring to how we spend our time now that we actually have some, but who we have become, or working to be?.
the gb carries on and on about "stripping off the old personality and putting on the new one.
Yes, contrary to what the GB try and tell everyone, nose who leave do not adopt a wicked, selfish personality.
We actually remain the same honest hearted and kind person, BUT with a more rounded out and less self-focussed view of everything.
We now don't revel in the idea of seeing billions of people killed (including babies) just because of an accident of birth, or because they don't accept magazines from door knocking witnesses!
We actually see that life is not something that needs to "be endured" , but rather ENJOYED!
i just wanted to share a quick thread to remind us all to never give up hope that our loved ones who are still mentally trapped in the org may one day wake up.. when i first starting waking up i never thought my wife would also awake.
i have always loved and respected her ability to think and reason, but i assumed that the hold of the organisation would always have its grip on her.. but slowly, and with patience, i shared some things i had learned, and the results have been amazing!.
my dear wife, who posts here under the name "unstuck" is so fully awake along with me.
Thanks for your lovely replies everyone!
I learned so much from everyone here over the years, and one point especially stood out:
If we want our loved ones to wake up, we need to casually bring in alternative fun activities to our lives. They need to see that life can be full, rich and enjoyable outside of the witness bubble. They need to expand from their narrow witness-mindset view of the world.
Slowly suggest doing something fun on a Sunday morning that breaks the routine. Go for a nice breakfast somewhere, a nice drive or walk....
Gently challenge the biased thinking styles and viewpoints ....
Dont force things....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08qhmhc/panorama-contaminated-blood-the-search-for-the-truth.
an experienced j w of my acquaintance , who had best be nameless, urged me to watch this t v programme because it "proves the society were right all along in warning of the dangers of blood.. well, yes , it does in a way demonstrate that the potential dangers of blood products was not fully recognized.
in particular this is shown in respect of the aids/hiv virus which was a new threat when it occurred.. there were some important points deliberately ignored by my dub associate , though :.
I can recall another Panorama episode that witnesses will run away from and refuse to watch, all the while condemning it as "biased journalism "
Hmmm....selective much?
this morning my brother and my mother (whom i mentioned in my previous topic when we had a conversation about evolution) visited a jehovah's witness, and when they returned, they returned with the awake!
magazine that they received from the witness.
the magazine is entitled, "is the bible really from god?
Great thread!
Some of the content reminded me of this great article:

Hi all,
I just wanted to share a quick thread to remind us all to never give up hope that our loved ones who are still mentally trapped in the org may one day wake up.
When I first starting waking up I never thought my wife would also awake. I have always loved and respected her ability to think and reason, but I assumed that the hold of the organisation would always have its grip on her.
But slowly, and with patience, I shared some things I had learned, and the results have been amazing!
My dear wife, who posts here under the name "unstuck" is so fully awake along with me. It is truely the most wonderful chapter of our life.
I don't mean to be insensitive to those whose situation is different or who have been hurt by family who refuse to "look behind the curtain" . Please forgive me if it comes acros like that.
I simply wish to hold a hand of encouragement out to remind us all to never give up. Show love and patience with your loved ones. Keep your dignity poise and grace, and you never know where things will go!
Much love to all!
this is my first time making an o.p.
an elder told me that he had access to a website online that had all the old bound volumes and books.
also, he made sure to say it was not an apostate website, but a 'legit' website made by brothers.
I would say that this Elder is awake!
in my time as an elder i attended many elders schools etc and we were often instructed to use the carrot, not the stick.
use commendation and encouragement as opposed to pressuring or guilting the brothers into field service etc.. it seems in that approach we were not imitating jehovah.
read deuteronomy chapter 28: carrot - first 13 verses.
Great observation doubtful1799!
Yes, The god of the bible is a very bloodthirsty and petty being who tries to coax "love" out of his creatures with the threat of punishment if they dont conform....
