I thought this was the evolutionary history of the apple?

this is a fascinating study of how our modern apples evolved.
the study involved examining the genomes of the array of apple varieties, including related types of fruit.. from it we can learn that the fruit types we know today, may not have existed in ancient times.
from its origins in what we now call kazakhstan, it seems the original fruit changed as trees grew in many places along the great ancient network of trade routes we call the silk road, and as different varieties evolved in various ways.. a readable version of the story can be found in popular archaeology:.

i hope this is the right place to put this.
so, i joined this site a while ago because i was looking for conversation and to help people.
i think at the time i actually needed to be around the kinds of people that i had grown up with as well.
Welcome.
This is a safe place full of supportive people who understand what we have all been through.
Stay, participate and enjoy.
Best wishes to you!
it seems that every 2nd witness often posts pictures of themselves at conventions, or out in 'service'.
but i have noticed that they never seem to post anything about the actual "spiritual content" of their activity!
instead, it is pictures of them with their witness "friends", along with some contrite comment like #bestlifeever (arrghhh).
Yes, my only social media is Instagram.
That seems to be the main Witness platform too...
[please feel free to share.].
forced to choose between beliefs and family.
“no one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds objectionable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.” that statement appeared in an article entitled “is it wrong to change your religion?” in the july 2009 awake magazine, published and distributed widely by jehovah’s witnesses.. nearly everyone reading that statement would consider it to be mere common sense.
Great thread.
Thank you
Love your work mate!!
Awesome.
some things i just didnt notice at the time which now seem so obvious:.
the bible tells us that the end will come like a thief in the night, when we least expect it.
(matthew 24:44).
Great thread!
BUT, You know, you are all just not reading it in CONTEXT! (sarcasm alert)
after todays watchtower, i realised that there was a detail which i'd never noticed before.
sometimes job's children are mentioned, but how many have noticed that job's servants were also killed.
they didn't even have a quantity assigned to them - just treated like property.

You are quite correct Saltheart!
The whole fictional account is flawed in many ways, including the outright promotion of the acquisition of wealth and property as being good!
In fact, the account goes to great lengths to say that GOD ALMIGHTY blesses with MATERIAL wealth.
So how does that translate to Witnesses in JW org today? The GB keep saying that it is NOT the personal aquisition of status or wealth that proves one's value in God's eyes?
And as you point out, the ACTUAL people are not important, it is just their "value" as a commodity that is highlighted (applies to both the children and the slaves etc)
BUT, this "factual biblical account" is supposed to prove that "Jehovah is Loving??"
Why did Jehovah even need to place a wager or have this bet with Satan anyway??
we just had a huge international convention here in romania.
at least huge by local standards.
22,000 in attendance in one location and around 44,000 throughout the country.
Ah yes!
"It is "faith-strengthening" to see the UNITY in teachings worldwide"
Which actually means:
"Nothing says CULT more, then when exactly the same propaganda material is dispensed with no variation all around the world"
Thanks for your summary. I can add this to my knowledge, so if asked by still-ins, I will know the content of the program and can bluff a response.
