Evening witnessing at a block of flats in a fairly rough part of the area.
From high up we hear a ladies voice call out "can I help you?"
We looked up to see her several balconies above, leaning over the railing naked!
what is the funniest or strangest thing to happen to you or your partner when knocking on doors?.
mine was seeing a greenhouse with mannequins inside.
scary...paul.

in what is just the height of irony, watchtower warns us about propaganda, and accepting everything we hear/read.
yes, we should ignore those that try to stop us thinking critically as this watchtower article will now teach us.
Great comments ttdtt.
Thanks for posting
daniel kokotajlo's new film apostasy has it's world premiere at the toronto international film festival in september 2017. apostasy.
family and faith come into conflict for two jehovah’s witness sisters in manchester, when one is condemned for fornication and the other pressured to shun her sibling.. this fresh, unadorned first feature from director dan kokotajlo carries an unmistakable note of authenticity from its very first scenes.
set in a jehovah's witness community in england, the film's strength and power lies in its directness.. apostasy depicts the growing rift in a family — a mother and two daughters — who are rigorously devoted to their religion.
Wow!
Hope it comes to Australia?!
there is usually a metamorphosis that takes place for a person to leave the jehovah's witness religion.
most people do not just up and go simply because they realize this could not be the truth.
it often takes time.. for those that go to meetings or engage in the ministry, will you forever continue doing these things, knowing that it is all bs?
I sat on the fence and pretended for a couple of years, all while slowly cutting back on my assignments and "privileges"
This was to try and effect some change amongst those I thought were friends.
Most importantly though it was to be there for my wife as she slowly awoke. If I had simply left, or acted too harshly about the society while she was awakening, it may have made her harden her love for the org, or dig in her heals.
But by being calm, and displaying love and patience, she too awoke.
She awoke, and joins us here on the forum. That was the best day of my life!
So whatever anyone needs to do to suit their circumstances, I support that.
it struck me that witnesses have mastered the art of revelling in "trials and problems" that require "enduring".
of course, the persecution complex, and the paranoia about these "wicked last days" no doubt contributes to this.. if one witness has some health issue, or if another has a family drama, they seem to revel in sharing these stories amongst their witness friends...almost in an attempt to elicit sympathy.. has anyone else noticed this?.
most normal people though outside of the org, simply recognise that life has its ups and downs, and need to be dealt with..

I read a great quote this week:
"To know the Truth and be free, you must first work out which lie is holding you captive"
go up to cart witnesses and ask what their organization is doing to aid hurricane victims.
and when they say they look to gods kingdom for the solution.
say your solution is for god kill 99.9 % of humans!
The very premise of witnesses is flawed.
Rather than being upset if people are killed, they should be happy for them, as they are now guaranteed a resurrection free pass into the new world right?
Yet, of course, as humans, we are all upset when people are killed in disasters.
So this shows that witnesses deep down do not believe their doctrines....
your thoughts on today's watchtower?.
can you explain?.
how can material possessions be used to strengthen our friendship with god?
The article is hypocritically contradictory!
In one paragraph it says that acquiring wealth is bad, and in another paragraph it speaks about being blessed by Jehovah with material things!?!?
so we know that by jw logic, the idea is that everyone who dies is acquitted of their sin and will get a resurrection in the "new world".
however, those directly destroyed by god, or at his command will not.
(for example, those destroyed in the flood.
Jw theology has stated that any who are directly killed by Jehovah will not get a resurrection. They have effectively been given their divine judgement once and for all time.
Hence my question in this opening post. All those listed were killed at the direct direction of Jehovah (if the bible is to be taken literally that is...and that is another topic).

However, those directly destroyed by God, or at his command will not. (For example, those destroyed in the Flood. Or those destroyed in Sodom etc...)
So what about the:
-"firstborn sons of Egypt" who god destroyed at Moses time? Exodus 11:4-6, Exodus 12:29
-"davids sons" 2samual 2:11
-"davids son with Bathsheba" 2samual 12:13-14
-children born to prostitutes" Hosea 2:4-5
-child of jeroboam killed because of his "evilness" 1kings 14:9-12
-"Hophni and Phineas killed because of the fathers actions" 1 Samuel 2:30-34
-" 7 of saul's sons and grandsons killed to end a famine" 2 Samuel 21:4-14
-"the wife of Lot" Genesis 19:26
-"a child who curses their parents are to be put to death" exodus 21:17
-"the 42 children killed by the she-bears at Elisha's time" 2kings 2:23-25
So the list can go on and on, but if all these ones were killed DIRECTLY BY, or at the DIRECTION OF Jehovah, have they been judged unworthy of a ressurection?
Feel free to add to the list! The best replies win a free pass into the new world!
