  Just wanted to bump this thread in honour of the amazing Grand Final victory that The Richmond Tigers had yesterday!

  In what has been an amazing climb to victory, the team has worked so hard to go from the lower end of the league all the way to the Grand Final! Their first Grand Final appearance and victory in 37 years!

  A cohesive and well trained team. One with great ethics and a united bunch of players, coaches and staff!

  Alex Rance played an outstanding game!

  was watching this recently done new history of the society - here it is on youtube if you missed it when it first came out:.

  lots of contradictory and nutty comments - for instance stating one minute that 1914 proved such a faith strengthening event because it fulfilled all their predictions, how encouraged they were, and then a few minutes later claiming the opposite - that many were disappointed and shocked because their expectations were not met!.

  The saddest thing is that the current generation of witnesses has had their orgnasation's history white washed. They now THINK they know the FACTS about the origins of their faith group, but have instead been force fed some adapted and distorted version.

  ok i want to pose a question to those who care to discuss this.. imagine a scenario.

  you hear of a exjw writing a book, however, before writing this book this exjw is requesting money to publish said book.

  you go along with it and help to get this book out to the public as you think that it will be beneficial.

  Every new generation of ex witnesses need a book that is relevant from their perspective and time period. As amazing, well written and researched the older books were, they were not written for and from the perspective of today's generation.

  I believe that The Reluctant Apostate is a very good book. Lloyd has done a great job with it.

  Please don't cast stones at me for saying that. While some here may have had personal issues with Lloyd in the past, it is not fair to criticise his work. He has helped many more (particulary younger ones) awaken to Truth About The Truth. And that has to be a good thing! - Saving the next generation of vulnerable born-ins....

  paradisewas it really paradise to be in paradise?adam and eve never were held by a mother, never cuddled and sung to with a lullaby nor nursed or coddled with tenderness or any human familial embrace.

  the first humans (adam and eve) never learned to toddle surrounded by brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles and grandparents cheering them on.

  the entire experience of childhood was excised surgically like a trauma patient awakening from an accident with amnesia.adam and eve were never in a neighborhood with other kids forming friendship bonds for life and exchanging dreams and hopes for a future they were building in their community.

  Waking up to TTATT: Blessing or Curse?

  if you take the red pill, you'll have knowledge, you'll be awakened, aware of reality, you'll have freedom.. if you take the blue pill, you stay in your bubble, wearing rose colored glasses, and feel security in an illusion.. taking the red pill isn't something that's easy to do.

  to accept that everything around you is an illusion built up on lies or half truths.

  but hey, it might feel good to be aware and break free from this illusion.

  for some background - i studied on & off as a child with a jehovah's witness who has been patiently working on lots of our family for more than a decade and never gave up on any of us.

  as a middle-schooler and a highschooler, my love for jehovah and any association with my childhoood bible teacher... faded.

  And what on earth are you doing here on a predominately apostate site?

  Trying to help us see the error of our ways?? Trying to help us wake up and say "ah! It IS the truth after all..."

  If you are progressing as a witness again, then this is not the place you want to be. Stick around long enough, and explore other factual sites such as JW.facts, and you may learn some things....

  Um, so an emotional feeling is more valuable to you than facts and logic?

  The "truth" is not truthful. The organisation is not gods chosen channel.

  But if it makes you feel good, or calms any guilt or self esteem issues, we wish you well.

  However, just remember the value of raising your child to value Truth and Honesty. This can't be done by being a witness....

  it just reminded me of the jw mantra "listen, obey and be blessed".

  Great opening post! That expression is eerily similar indeed!

  The comparisons are many. I have started some threads over the years about it.

  On their website, they have a section for all ages, including cartoon characters similar to Caleb and sophia. They have mini movie dramas, they have lectures from the GB equivalent leaders...

  Spend some time on their sites (there are several sites) and the similarities are there.

  Seeing these things was one thing that helped me to see that "Jehovah's organisation " is NOT that unique as we were always told.

  A "Three-fold cord"?

  we all know of the well used scripture that speaks of "a three-fold cord" in marriage.. sure, it is meant to indicate that any marriage that has "god" in it as the foundation of the couple's life will be successful.

  but how often have we noticed that what it really means for witnesses is that the society, or the gb has the right to be an unwelcome and nosey intruder in the lives of couples.

  every decision that family unit makes is influenced by the organisation.
