Yes, their motto is:
"why allow FACTS to get in the way of one's beliefs?"
i speak semi-regularly to an old friend of mine who i would describe as a super-dub.. he knows i am inactive but over the years i have peppered him with a lot of questions about the org.
that i hoped would make him at least pause and think somewhat rationally about the reality of being a jw in this brave new- post gb 2.0 world.. we have discussed everything from the generation changes, to the u.n. , failed prophecy, flip flops, the reduction in size of the wt magazine, the closing/ consolidation of bethels including lay-offs, jw broadcasting, cart witnessing- etc, etc.. what do i mean by super-dub?
he is a born-in, has missionary parents, he reg.

so in my part of the world, they are currently holding the week long elders schools.
my father is attending one.
does anyone (hello wifi bandit?
Anyone?
I would love to see the details of this school...
I mean, what can they seriously talk about for 5 days straight?
Apparently the "pre-study" he had to do took him DAYS!
i've done a good deal of posting in my brief 24 hours here so far, figured i might as well provide a slightly more in depth narrative.
second generation born-in.
elder's daughter and elders' granddaughter.
Welcome !
Great to have you here!
so im walking through town today on my lunchbreak and spot the unmistakable walk of my younger brother.
this is the one who left watchtower... well it turns out he's returned to the vomit after stupidly turning up to the 2017 convention and a few elders filling his head with seeing our dead dad in paradise and to "wait on jehovah".. a few meters behind him was my sister.
she spotted me first, then hurried up her step to my brother.
Oh PE, How DARE you make them feel awkward or bad. It is all your fault you know!
YOU dared to even breathe the same air as them! How evil are you?
You should have run away screaming and crying with grief when you saw them...just to show how upright their attitudes are, and how wrong you are now that you "left Jehovah"
Shame on you.

Does anyone (hello wifi bandit?!😉) have the program, talk outlines or content?
I would love to be familiar enough with it so I can open a discussion with him...
thanks!
our kingdom hall was in a boring town of 30,000 people so to spice things up me and some special pioneers living with us decided to have a fancy dress up party!
what could go wrong?
nice clean fun, and no booze (oh crap!).
Fancy Dress was banned in all forms, as I was told by an elder once "we do not believe in Fairy Tales or stories about Superhuman beings!"
Hmmm...
what a breath a fresh air to be free of watchtower.
now i can finally rant about the things i put up with that i'd never put up with now.. in no particular order:.
little kids in suits.
Fake friends.
Thinking that everyone who happened to share your faith, was a "true friend". But they would rat you out to the elders THE MOMENT you said or did anything that was not "approved".
Conditional associates handed to us on a plate, so we never learned the skills on how to make REAL friends.
yesterday’s watchtower talked about how by becoming a jw it enabled “worldly” people to ‘strip off the old personality’ and make really significantly good changes in their life.. paragraph named 4 individuals (anonymous names of course and probably embellished tales)) sakura, ribeiro, stephen, and hans.
their lives changed for the good because they found god or because they became jw’s---right?.
so on the way home from this wt meeting, my wife commented to me how wonderful our brotherhood is and how it helps people who would otherwise be ‘lost’ n this world.
Yes everyone, I too must say that thanks to a new direction in my life, I no longer act like a judgemental, bigoted, arrogant, proud, self righteous, know-it-all, pompous ass.
Yes, since I STOPPED BEING A JW, my life and attitude has improved.
I guess I have "seen the light!"
My life has been turned around! I have "stripped off the old personality"
haha...yes, it applies equally well the other way around too....
Indeed! Martyrs gotta hate (themselves)
yup, you read right.
despite other personal turmoil that needs to be addressed, my family has decided to go nuts over halloween decorations being "too close" to our yard.
a new family just moved in next door; their kids are super young.
So on the subject of Halloween, do you know why JWs don't like the trick or treaters coming by during the celebration ?
They hate it when people they dont know, come and knock on their door unannounced trying to push a message they don't agree with.....
