The end of an era ......
by snare&racket ini have written some time ago, about how the religion i grew up in no longer exists.
i was an 80βs jw kid who became a pioneer then a bethelite.
they have new meetings, new elder roles, new acronyms, new core teachings, new songs and even a new bible.

The Seven Trumpets
by Jehovah lol inis it still watchtower dogma that the seven trumpets of revelation refer to seven conventions in the 1920s?
would many jws these days even be aware of this?
i find it so amusing that seven little conventions in the distant past, almost a century ago, could be equated with such an iconic biblical passage.

Great thread.
Well, I guess that since the revelation climax book is now "outdated old light", and I don't know of any replacement book, it's anyone's guess as to what the "official" teachings are now.
Yes, it's downright stupid to think that some inane "resolution or proclamation" made at some 20th century cult convention was the fulfilment of the ancient writings of a crazy mental patient named John on some isolated island....

What's destroying Watchtower!
by UnshackleTheChains infor me, beyond any shadow of a doubt, it's the extreme shunning policy.. at a recent sunday meeting, i listened to a complete brainwashed sister saying how important it was that we stick to the shunning policy even if it is a close relative.. i just thought.
wtf.
there is a big difference between the brainwashed and the awoken class!.

Sure, shunning is a point.
But I genuinely think that the most damaging thing the society is doing, is whitewashing its past wrong teachings, and not being transparent about its present day scandals such as the mishandling of child sexual abuse issues. This is so damaging, because when a witness FINALLY learns those things, they are HEARTBROKEN AND PISSED OFF that the organisation they thought was Gods channel, is corrupt!

How about this movie title?
"one flew over the cuckoos nest?"
The 'cuckoos' would be ToMo3 and SLett!

Hello Again
by everbrighterhal ini'm sorry if this is in the wrong category!
i am formerly adimmedlight, or something close to that.
i have been lurking here a few years now and while i did make an account before, i used a fake email (i no longer remember it, since it was made only to log in the one time i posted.. )because i was so paranoid people in my home town would discover me and "out" me.

I reckon that stage is reached like a light switch. One day you just wake up and say "stuff this!, I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG, so why should I be afraid of the Society and its procedures. THEY have been the dishonest ones...NOT me"
