Brilliant!
Well done PE.
I will happily contribute some funds to your efforts? Have you started a go-fund-me or something similar?
we all know waking up from the cult and trying to leave is a very scary and life changing experience.
for many it's traumatic and few find the transition easy.
we have to deal with families cutting us off entirely or keeping us at arms length at best, lies being told about us by the organization, ex members gossiping about us and finding ourselves in a world very different from what we're prepared for.. for this reason, i've decided to start writing a self-help book informing jws of what to expect when they leave the org.
Brilliant!

i met a wonderful man on match.com several months ago.
on our first date, there was amazing chemistry and we ended up having sex.
it was not planned, it just happened.
In addition to all that others have written, I can add this:
JW relationships are inherently unhealthy anyway. Why?
Because they are like living with a constant third person (the org) in the relationship! Imagine never being able to REALLY become a partnership, when there is a nosey, prying, intrusive third 'person' interfering!
It is enough that the bible speaks about a "three fold chord" in a marriage! That actually means that there is an inappropriate third entity sticking their nose where it doesn't belong!
somebody posted the contract on exjwreddit: https://i.redd.it/1u8808gy6ni01.jpg.
it appears to be signed by howie ernest rutledge.
im assuming this is howie rutledge tran, former assistant to the gb?.
I had to sign something like that also in 1994 when I entered Bethel.
It was STRESSED to us that we could not do any secular work while at Bethel (except on our holidays) We only got 1 day holiday for every month worked. ie so 12 days in total each year.
I did not have family with money to support me, so I had to use all my vacation days to do work window cleaning just to pay the expenses of running a car. (We got a small vehicle allowance but it wasn't enough to cover costs) And we couldn't live without a car here in that part of Sydney
But some Bethelites had secret jobs after hours (like in a petrol station). When it was found out, they would be severely disciplined.
It all seems so culty and high-control now. But back then we thought it was normal!
cookthebooks:.
there are several leaked elder videos in the zipped file.
use 7-zip or whatever program you use to unzip the folder.. https://we.tl/p41inlwgxa.
Thanks Atlantis!
(And thanks to whoever leaked these to you)
I just watched the one with Splane! Arghh...the smarmy tone he uses is so condescending!
it struck me that the society has created a culture of lazy jw parenting.. rather than parents being there to guide and direct and help their children through all stages of life, the gb / society has become the "go-too" for everything.. if the child has an issue, there is a wt article for that.. does the child need help with something else?
ah, there is a caleb and sophia cartoon for that.. what about that other topic?
ah, there is a book for that.. so rather than being present parents, the average jw parent simply outsources their parenting to the organization!
JWFACTS: Watchtower doesn't want parents thinking. Just give your child an ipad, get the child to watch the same piece of propaganda hundreds of times until they are too indoctrinated to ask tricky questions.
Great point indeed Paul. Your post is so very spot on!
Thanks for posting those excellent scriptures Ding and TTDTT.
Very appropriate to highlight the appalling conduct of the society!
tuesday, february 27. let the elders who preside in a fine way be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard in speaking and teaching.—1 tim.
5:17.. those related to us in the faith certainly merit honor and respect.
this is especially true of the elders who are taking the lead.
Good point STADD! Yes, by flattering such elders, they become enamoured with their standing as big fish in a small bowl.
Also, good point Morph. In fact, how often have the GB approved articles with pictures or diagrams showing the 'theocratic hierarchy' starting at Jehovah, then Jesus, then through to the GB and Elders etc....
So, while they may say "don't praise such ones" their own literature says the opposite.
No wonder the average witness has a hard time knowing how to act or respond!

Ttdtt! Your comment is very interesting too!
I hadn't thought of it that way, but you have a good point! Witness marriages are lazy in that sense, as they just wait on the new system to fix everything!
Interesting observation you made.
i am a born in jw for over 30 years now and have been in various positions in the organization.
now i'm guessing most of us recognize that older generations tend to be more fundamental and less reasonable when it comes to their outlook and beliefs.
i find this to mirror the differences you see outside of the organization as well (older people less tolerant of other religions, newer technology, lgbt, etc.).
Very true observation!
Yes, I'm proud of the fact that the younger generation as a whole is more reasonable and open minded.
Nice thread.
I can hear it now from a small back room: "BAD BOY. NO! DONT TOUCH THAT!"
Oh, that was while it was a kingdom hall sorry!
