The only thing the GB or their predecessors got correct was:
"Religion is a snare and a racket!"
i asked this question to a relative after mentioning several situations where teachings were changed or readjusted (new light) and they have two reasons.
yes, they are correct because look at how the preaching work has grown through the decades and the advancements in witnessing and the second reason was the doctrine of the trinity and how the society opposes that.
i didn’t really have a response, especially for the trinity doctrine.. does the governing body have the rejection of the trinity belief correct?.

"Religion is a snare and a racket!"
if anyone has not yet watched the fantastic 2017 movie "the big sick", i would highly recommend it!.
without giving too much away, there are two scenes in it that we as ex jws will relate to.. the first scene shows the main character being chastised and rejected by his parents for not following their religious and cultural expectations and marrying a muslim girl.
the parents effectively "disfellowship" him from their family!

The next clip shows how he handles that! It is brilliant!
has anyone else seen the movie "confessions of a teenage jesus jerk"?.
im still processing it, and trying to work out my thoughts..... i would be interested in others thoughts..
Good observations Dubstepped!
I share your views. It seemed to miss the mark on some aspects. I also do not know why some points were put into the film (cousin sex).
But I suppose, all exposure of the cult to the mainstream population is good in some ways....
never have understood why sudden destruction most come after announcement of peace and security.
is not peace and security a good thing?
can someone give a logical answer to it..
Ah well, NO ONE except Jehovah has the right to bring in "Peace and Security" you see.
And he will usher this in by means of a mass GENOCIDE of Billions of people...
So glad this got news exposure!
I am sure that all of us here have at one time taken part in preaching to people near cemetaries, or after funerals. Or we have left literature with people who have just lost loved ones. Although I would never have posted on a specific message board for an individual
Looking back now, I can see how intrusive, presumptious and inappropriate it was. I feel ashamed at such activity.
I seem to recall MANY experiences at assemblies and in articles that praised such activity. There was even a video I am sure that showed something like this. It is an approved course of activity of the society. It maddens me that they would try and weazel out of it by saying it was "just individuals". Those individuals did it because the idea came from the Society!
a thought came to mind.. often when we awaken to the "truth about the truth", jws will ask "what made you start questioning things?
they act as if we are doing something wrong by questioning facts.. but, the scripture at 2 cor 13:5 clearly says "keep testing whether you are in the faith, keep proving what you are".
so, this implies regular checks of our faith, and all we believe to be true.
Thanks for your comments Perry. Nice point!
Love it!

It is like going to the Doctors for a regular check up. We may not feel sick, but we go regularly to ensure all is ok with our health. In the course of that check-up, we may be made aware of something. Do we just ignore it and say to ourselves "well I felt fine last time, and I dont need to give attention to this issue!"
NO, we take the Drs advice and take steps to give attention to the things before us! We dont bury our heads in the sand.
So, it is no different to "waking up" to TTATT. WE have carried out a regular check of our faith, and found glaring issues that can not be ignored.
Thoughts?
a good friend of ours and i were chatting the other day about the difference between a zealous person and fanatical person.. what is the difference?.
why is someone praised for being "zealous" , but another person is mocked or condemned for being a "fanatical" person?.
how would jws be classed?.

They proudly say they are Zealous for their activity. We though would look at their blind allegiance and obedience to the Society, while ignoring facts, as being "Fanatical"
