Yes, delivere it just like that! It covers the assigned theme very well, and it uses nothing but scriptures and society quotes to prove the comments.

Make sure your tone of delivery is warm and conversational...not snide or harsh or condemning.

Just deliever it, END WITH A THOUGHT PROVOKING QUESTION as fast Jehu suggested, and calmly walk off.

I gaurantee, you will get many people coming up to you saying "great talk brother".

I wish I had this talk this week! I would use your material (if you would allow it?)

Hell, I might just volunteer now!

Going to a meeting for the first time in a while- love bombing expected

long story short, i have to go to the kh on tuesday with my mum and i havent been in at least a month now.

the reaon im going is because when i got my mum to finally let me make my own decision about whether or not i want to be a jw she made me promise that i'd go to the memorial, assemblies and if she had a talk.

she's already told me that people have been asking for me and only a few people in my cong know that i dont think it's the truth.. when i was trying to leave a couple brothers really piled on the "encouragement" and i dread to think about what it will be like when they see me again.

this is an offshoot from the jws then and now thread...it made me wonder what exactly people find attractive about the cult today?

why are they joining?

any thoughts?.

Generally it is not accomplished people, or those that have theirs lives altogether who get attracted to the truth.

It is generally those misfits and outcasts, and those with baggage of sorts that come in.

If you look around the congs and see those who are in leadership positions, they are usually the charismatic ones who have their lives together....and most of them were born ins not ones who came into 'the truth'.

A guy with a nice family, good job or business and happy relationships, doesnt get attracted to the 'truth'.

But a guy or girl with a misfit, messed up family life, poor socal skills, lack of career and minimal friends finds the truth so appealling.

And they use the scriptures that says that the truth appeals "not to the wise of this world", but to the "crushed reeds and those broken in spirit" to justify it!
