so we all know of the parable / illustration at matt 7:13.

"go in through the narrow gate, because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones finding it, or going in through it".

The broad / spacious road is in fact the WT society (well, they love boasting about their rapidly increasing numbers dont they!?)

The narrow gate to life is those not willing to just be drawn along with the crowd of WT followers!

Ponder that......

First Post - Emotionally Torn

i haven't been on here long but i found this site a couple days ago and quickly realised it had a lot of posts by people going through similar experiences as me.

i read some of the answers and it helped relieve some inner anguish i've been carrying since everything i came clean to my parents about everything i've been reading about.. .

i just have been going through a rough patch right now; that might be an under or overstatement depending on your own personal experiences with this kind of stuff.

The replies you have recieved show that you are not alone. You have support from such a variety of us here on the forum!

There are members here who are young and old. Ones who have been long time elders and ministerial servants, pioneers, bethelites etc! Ones who have been involved with every level of the organization!

All memeber here are educated, accomplished people in this world....yet we have a common theme and experience. Our lives have been affected by the organziation.

I am still stuckinarut myself and struggling to break free, yet I am in my late 30's! Dont make the same mistakes as me and just go along with everything because you are told it is the truth... Rip off the bandage quickly and you will be able to heal and live a normal life!

CO Special Meeting with MS & Elders

when the co visits a cognregation this semester, a special meeting with elders and mss is sceduled tuesday night, right after the normal meeting.

does anyone know what this meeting is about?

this special meeting is held at the beginning of the co-week, and is different from the standard meeting with personnel which is held friday evening.

Yes, I started a thread about three weeks ago during our CO's visit about the same thing.

It is to get every inactive one called on during the week and invited back to the khall...to tell them "we miss you, and the Governing Body misses you"

BUT wait! If you are having your visist this week, just wait for the stuff you will hear at the Elders and MS meeting at the end of the week!

The video will blow you away!...not just the first part, but the last part is so out of touch and tragic that it should be illegal!! Just tell a depressed suicidal person to repeat a slogan "I am an integrity keeper..I wont kill myself...I dont have it as bad as ancient Job, so get over it, go witnessing more etc...But dont get proffesional help...No that would be evil"

You will see what I mean!

I am going insane sitting here in the meeting listening to this repetitive garbage!

so i am sitting here at the meeting during the "book study".... the study is all about gods protective power!.

oh, yes, protective power....for righteous servants of his.....but what about all those who are trying to be good witnesses, serving the gb, who are not protected from harm?

Ok, so I have a temporary plan or game I will do to keep myself sane (while I am still in the fading stages and going to meetings)

I will post here each time I am at the meeting, and share some of the classic comments and talk material with you all!

This will no doubt keep my mind occupied and cynically active, and also give you guys all a laugh (or stressful recollections?)

Anonymous Donation - Not!

my mother in law (in her 80's) just told me that she had the elders around to pick up her 'donation' pledge.

it was 'suggested that $20 a month was the average amount pledged but she could pledge more or less.

so, rather than an anonymous amount they have a signed document stating the amount of her pledge.

Oh my god that is rude...and so wrong!

Tell the CO that next time he visits and see what happens to those elders!

What proof do we have that Moses was a real person???

i personally believe moses was largely or entirely mythical.

is because much of his biography, if not most of it, is tied to events.

that never happened, meaning that a historical moses could not .

OF COURSE HE WAS REAL!

He personally said he was in fact real in the same book where he wrote that he was personally "the meekest / most humble man that ever lived"

Well, our brother doing the bible highlights (exodus 27-29) made this tenuous link to modern day: " we should just do whatever we are asked to do no matter how strange it may seem. So when gods organisation asks us to do something that seems odd, just do it and you will be blessed "
