My Father has brandished me with the "APOSTATE" word for talking about the BIBLE!
by stuckinarut2 inso after three years of fading, my elder father has never really asked why we have chosen to stop attending.. today, after a mixed discussion, he starts talking about the "solution to all the world problems" and says "i don't know what you now believe, but i believe gods kingdom will fix everything" i let the comment go, and didn't respond.. then he goes on about the video "remember the wife of lot" because he just came from the convention last weekend.
"don't get caught up in this system...blah blah".
i couldn't help myself, and said one thing "dad, that video failed to show the next chapter of that account.

"you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free"
I stepped on a nail once, I don't need to step on one again to know how dangerous and painful it is!

OH WOW!
So the "Rewards program" means people can GIVE those TO the society? NOT the society giving reward incentives to witnesses!
Oh, I have seen everything now!
Imagine if a department store had that sort of "rewards program"?! hahahaha "Now sir, you have spent money here with us to purchase things, now would you like to just give us more for the fun of it?"

Will Watchtower target the inactive?
by ToesUp inif watchtower has no reason to df ones.
they have just become inactive.
do you all think wt will begin a witch hunt (df'ing) for these inactive ones?

There was a directive to all elders at a recent CO visit.
It directed that there will NO LONGER be any efforts to visit the DF DA or Inactive in the territory. ( such as through the annual visit that used to be the case)
They said that "If these ones wish to establish contact, they could approach witnesses doing cart work and make their wishes known"
So the GB have put the onus on the DF DA or inactive person to put in efforts, rather than the society chasing us up.

"The purpose of reporting field service time is for encouragement"
by HereIgo ini was told this when i was an aspiring jw, aka unbaptized publisher.
the above explanation didn't make sense to me then and it never did make sense throughout my jw career.
over time, it appeared to me the real purpose of field service time reporting was to gauge one's spirituality and for the ceo *cough* co to make sure the elders were on top of things during his visit..

Next week's "Bible" Study at the K.H.
by The Fall Guy inone or two notable points from chapter 18 of "god's kingdom rules.".
“it will never beg nor petition men for support”.
7 brother russell and his associates refused to imitate the money-raising schemes so common in the churches of christendom.

Yes!
The very fact that the GB do not feel even a tinge of hypocrisy for scheduling this as the study for the week is mind blowing!
They must genuinely believe they have never breached those words!?!?😳

Laziness of JW parents?
by stuckinarut2 init seems that many witness parents are simply taking the lazy option when it comes to raising their children.. by this i mean, they will happily outsource the education of their kids to the ready-made information on jwdotorg.. need to keep the toddler busy?
just stick him in front of a colourful caleb and sophia cartoon.
or lets play coloring-in on ready made pictures of bible characters getting killed.. need to manipulate the mind of your growing child?

It seems that many Witness parents are simply taking the lazy option when it comes to raising their children.
By this I mean, they will happily outsource the education of their kids to the ready-made information on JWdotORG.
Need to keep the toddler busy? Just stick him in front of a colourful Caleb and Sophia cartoon. Or lets play coloring-in on ready made pictures of bible characters getting killed.
Need to manipulate the mind of your growing child? Find a video on the site that handles that very topic, and rather than being an involved parent, just let the manipulative propaganda do the job for you.
Have teenagers? Well, there is a section on the site full of leading manipulative content there too! Is your teenager asking questions about the origins of animal life, great! There are videos that promote creation rather than science. Is your teenager curious about love and attraction? Fine! Here are some ready made videos and worksheets!
The modern Witness parent is "so thankful to Jehovah" for these provisions...but surley, it simply makes it easier for them to avoid actually guiding their own children. Just outsource it to the Society and let them do it all for you.
Rant over.

Facial hair and Witnesses
by Jules Saturn ini never understood why the society was against beards or goatees but completely okay with mustaches.
what's the difference?
facial hair is facial hair, whether it's above your lip or around your cheeks or under your chin.

By the way, my post on the last page (letter from the GB) was an attempt at satire.
Sorry if someone thought it was real and gave it a dislike. I was getting carried away with sarcasm.
