  Faced with the reality of mortality

  how have you all coped with facing the reality of our mortality?.

  most of us were raised to firmly believe we would never get old or die... so here we are now having to face the reality that are getting older... we are going to die.. sometimes it really pisses me off that we were never helped to comprehend this most basic of facts.

  we were given a utopian dream as a "fact", and hence never taught how to face our inevitable futures.... thoughts?.

  Some more background information on Geoffrey Jackson

  born in 1955 jacko was baptized at 13 years of age in 1968.his life story, printed in the august 2015 watchtower doesn't state the year in which he married, it's fairly general when talking about it.

  hmmm, i wonder why?i've come across a recording of an interview with jacko at a hall dedication in another part of the us in 2009 which provides some further information.he married his first wife, jenny, in 1974 at the grand old age of 19. no wonder they didn't want to print it in the watchtower.unfortunately his first wife, jenny, was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.in 2003 jacko was sent a letter from the gb stating he was being transferred to hq and his wife would be given appropriate work.

  he initially didn't know why they were being called to hq as he felt they were being very productive in their fijian paradise, he states that they brought 75 people into the truth.

  Yes, it confirms just how "human" and "normal" they are.

  I bet most witnesses who revere the GB find it hard to reconcile the "humanness" of their "faithful and discreet slave"?

  hello everyone, my wife wants nothing to do with my awakening.

  every time i try explaining something she tells me she doesn't want to hear it.

  i believe she's afraid of learning something she's not ready for.

  Patience and love!

  The best thing is to show her how calm and dignified you are. This will make an impact.

  Be gracious and mild. Be patient (as I already said)

  Simply let her know that you personally value truth and honesty, and have found many things that do not seem to align with those principles. then simply invite "if you would like me to share these things, just let me know...but I will not force you, nor attempt to subvert your faith babe / love / dear (insert kind affectionate name)"

  It is then up to her and her curiosity to approach you...

  Then leave the topic alone...

  95 Un-Truths - celebrate 500 years since Diet of Worms

  well hello friends.

  you may recall the article we published about martin luther: https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2003686#h=1:0-44:51. at the end of this month it's exactly 500 years since he nailed his list of 95 objections (un-truths) to the door of the catholic church, kicking off the reformation...for which he was invited to the diet of worms (judicial committee) and excommunicated.. also at a similar time to this commemoration, i have been invited to attend an event of the vast apostate army here in warwick (5.11.2017).

  i'm worried that someone may compose a list of 95 untruths about us, and nail it to the gates at warwick!.

  can you still record the talks at assemblies?

  years ago my parents would record these talks and play them back all the time.

  when they both died, we cleaned out the house and found 50 plus cassette tapes of recorded talks and they were labeled the year and the speaker at the time.

  that was in the year 2000. we just gave them to there jw friends because i did not want to keep them for recording of music.

  Where were you Jehovah while these thousands of cases took place worldwide?? Sleeping, or In the toilet perhaps? (1 Kings 18:27)

  Outside JW World They Barely Exist

  is anyone else staggered by the fact that outside of the organization most of the general public seem to know very little or nothing about jw’s?

  when i was in i was led to believe that 99% of the worlds population had been giving sufficient warning, knew what it was all about and were stubbornly sticking to their immoral ways.

  the reality seems to be that the entire jw universe is barely noticeable to the masses.

  When I was in the first stages of waking up, I made a friend in the local community and shared some of my religious background. He is a devout Christian who attends an Anglican church.

  he made one comment that stood out to me just like the opening post. He simply stated that "nobody even knows or thinks about Jws."

  It stunned me to think that "we" were not well known! I had been raised all my life to think that the very earth revolved around "us" as witnesses!

  That really helped make those cracks in the ice of my faith get dangerously big!

  it certainly has to be one of the most exciting times to live in as an awake ex witness!.

  the wave of momentum we are part of as thousands awaken from the hold of the society is a joy to be a part of.

  It certainly has to be one of the most exciting times to live in as an awake ex witness!

  The wave of momentum we are part of as thousands awaken from the hold of the Society is a joy to be a part of.

  The internet helps us to see that we are NOT alone. We are NOT the only ones to recognise the facts we have learned.

  I wanted to thank the hundreds of online ex witnesses who have been brave enough to share their stories via videos, webpages and the like. Those who have put their faces and stories out there to help others.

  The more of us that take this brave step, the more the wave of momentum will build.

  Sure, be cautious if there may be personal consequences. But every story shared, every video posted, every effort put in, can help so many more people!

  It's been a GREAT week for me!

  i put my story out there in 9 parts, and i've had lots of great experiences so far and met lots of nice people and i've made new internet friends, even some in person.

  this last seven days though has been soooooo cool!.
