i've been here on maui for about 7 months now, to start life over after my ordeal on the mainland with the dubbies.
and for the most part it's been good...... until last month when my employer announced bankruptcy.
so i am out of work for now, but and i am starting my own business again.

geez talk about trading one addiction for another..... i get on jwd reading, posting, chatting, and i just can't seem to get myself to log off the internet!
sometimes it's cuz i don't want to go do what i have to, or sometimes even want to, go do.
sometimes i'm just feeling anxious and needy.

To be BORN AGAIN is to be saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ...
I felt even as a JW, when I dedicated my life to do God's will and accepted Jesus as my savior (he gave his life for us) and got baptized and tried to live my life the way Jesus did when he was on the earth, that fit in to the description as BORN AGAIN. I know the JW's don't endorse that phrase...but in my mind...according to the scriptures, I was born again.
We even had one circuit overseer who's message was the life of Jesus and how can we show people that we believe in him and live our life as a footstep follower of him. (very unusual Circuit Overseer...always wondered what happened to him)
I don't need to be born again just because I am not in the JW religion. I have already accepted Jesus as my savior many years ago.

if you are taught the jw organization is your link to god, it is so hard to think of leaving everything.
like a hole that will not be filled again, there is so horrible things that have happened in the world, could it be that there is no everlasting life for us, so many questions and to think of giving up everyone makes me sick to my stomach.
but i want to be happy and i'm not, does anyone feel empty?

... the reason I stopped was due to hypocrisy (exposing of child abuse issues on Dateline May 2002) and lack of love. (as those show they don't have the true religion) Yes, I had a huge hole for a while until I did my research of the WTBS. It has been 1.5 years for me.
I always thought about the song: "Make the truth your own"........as meaning, my relationship is purely between me and Jehovah anyways...why do I need a religion to have that relationship?
Steve Hassan's books (Combatting Cult Mind Control and Releasing the Bonds) are excellent to read.......and "The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse"...(can't remember the author's name). Being aware of the "real history" behind the WTBS is a must for anyone.

Sorry, I don't feel the need to be "born again".........As a jw all my life.....I got baptized for the right reason: "as a footstep follower of Christ" and try to live my life as closely to what he wrote...each and every day.
Now that I am out of "organized religion"...I don't ever feel the need for organized religion because it just lays extra rules that a true follower of Christ doesn't need. (IMHO............but each to their own...whatever makes you happy!!! So be it!!!)

Thanks for answering my questions about your life as a JW. I find it very intriguing that they could df a person for not praying to Jehovah. But I guess each elder body can impose any kind of judgement they see fit. I know of many cases where they don't even follow their own: "Pay Attention To the Flock" book. By not applying those instructions, those elders should be df'd.
As I look back, I clearly see this religion and many as just a club. A club that imposes "their rules" instead of the divine ones written in the Bible. Pharisees to the max, who's only mo is to have a power trip from controlling others.

How long were you a JW and what made you leave....? IF I can ask...or if you ever were one...
and btw...I don't believe in organized religion anymore....my JW experience burnt that well...and besides I don't need a religion to be at one with a higher power...

i just finished a visit with two elders.
i had actually contacted the head quarters and wanted to see how fast i can get a response from them.
i was impressed, from the time of my request to them in my house... two weeks.
Very interesting Puternut and good job
