I didn't catch the whole segment...just enough to know it was about polygamy and guessed it was the Mormon Church....and yes...I wonder how anybody could go along with that!

Did anyone see this on Good Morning America?
by ARoarer inwe have been charging crimes like incest, child abuse, all kinds of welfare fraud, tax evasion, other types of white collar crimes," he said.
shurtleff said they are concerned about the possiblity of a violent confrontation between released members of the sect and jeffs because being kicked out of this type of group equals having your entire life destroyed.
"it means you must leave your property, which is owned by the church, leave your business, owned by the church.

JW friends came to visit -- happy ending!
by cruzanheart inthursday afternoon i picked up three friends of ours from england: a dear elderly jw lady (who hates that term) who is headed for 80 faster than she'd like, her son, and her son-in-law.
son hasn't been "in" the witnesses for years and years and years -- drifted out -- and sil is an elder.
i was nervous.

Nina:
I am so happy for you. I recently had an experience that reminded me of yours. I will pm you with the details. I can't post it openly for personal reasons. There are some Jw's out there that know that "things" aren't quite right. A step in the right direction for "removing the rose colored glasses!!!"

The McDonald's Diet
by Pleasuredome ini thought this news item was quite funny.
last february, morgan spurlock decided to become a gastronomical guinea pig.
his mission: to eat three meals a day for 30 days at mcdonald's and document the impact on his health.

I heard that after consuming this diet for 26 days that his doctors told him to STOP it...it appeared he was having liver damage.

Interesting info Blondie, but this happened in 1987. I had never heard any comment on the platform about that aspect of the holiday season in 1987...and I was a die hard JW then.

I waited till she wasn't around to tell others in the car group and my family....they got a kick out of it too.

My heart is ripped out !!
by Puternut ini am absolutly miserable !.
i am a newbie here, some of you have seen my posts.

Dear Puternut:
I think you need a (((hug)))....
I have been reading your posts and have been likewise impressed with your ability to share you inner feelings. Like the one on: Where's the Love?
I read this new thread and could "feel" your pain. You see, it hasn't been that long since myself, and Mr. CB have been learning these things about the WTBS. (about 10 months) I think Mr. CB and you have so much in common, from what I read of your life. I think you 2 would have a lot to talk about.
We have both been angered that we gave so many years to the WTBS and was deceived in many ways. I was a true die hard until I saw that Dateline Special almost 2 years ago last May about the child pedophiles within the organization. I only saw the last 10 minutes and almost fell off my couch....I began to ask myself: How can I go in the door to door work now? We (WTBS) are no different than the Catholics...My doubts began...I despise hypocrisy. And like I told you on your other post about when we relocated to Washington...the terrible, cruel elder visit...that really did it!!! (love is suppose to be one of the identifying marks of a true religion) And yes, I found this site....referred to it by Scully, who knew Mr. CB in their teen years...I was very nervous when I first started reading...but I could identify myself more with most of the people who post here than at the KH (hmmm)
I am so sorry you are feeling this pain and also the pain of loosing your family. You have gone thru a lot of traumatic things in a short period of time...and NOW you are finding another thing that just seems to almost make you feel even more "alone"...But you really aren't alone...You have had some doors closed, but new ones are beginning to open.
There are a lot of really kind people here. You have had many kind responses, and they are genuine. I have met some of the posters and they are just as genuine as they seem in writing. They have experienced what we have experienced and truly understand what you are going thru...they are a "life support"...

by Vivamus inoh sweet lord, save me from this insanity.. *still shaking*.
i get so bloody sick of this frigging nightmares.. my god.. i went to bed about 1.5 hours ago, and about five minutes ago i wrestled myself back to being awake, wanting to escape yet an other horror filled with demons and dead people who want to do me harm.
om something similar stupid.. well at least my ordeal didn't last for more than one hour or so .... .

I have had similar dreams...they seem so real....I try to wake myself up when it is happening........talk about WEIRD....
Sorry no solution: I think you are just VERY exhausted when you go to bed...and you know they say your subconcious is taking over for a reason.

Can't you just FEEL the love?
by Puternut inhad a call from an elder yesterday: "hi, this is elder n. we haven't seen you in a while, just checking up on you.
oh btw, we haven't received the eldersbook back from you........".
did he really wanted to see how i was doing?
-
codeblue
Sounds like they want the book more than they do you...btw, are you going to give them their book back? Just wondering, maybe you could do a switch: elders book for your publisher cards and any info linked to the card? It is YOUR PUBLISHER CARD anyway.
Your phone call sounded like our "welcoming visit last Feb." We had just relocated to a new KH from a different state. The first 10 minutes was "nice and cozy" after that it got ugly. The elders said: " we are here to check on "irregular pubs"..."WE have to see your CARD to know if you are PEDOPHILES"....They said a few more unkind phrases to Mr. CB like: " When we come back, we are gonna make you eat crow." (They repeated that comment 3 times in 2.5 hours...all because they couldn't find a scripture to show why we need publisher cards) All's I could keep thinking is: Where is the LOVE?

I need a hug (vent)
by Billygoat inwhy is it i always end up working for companies that don't give a crap about their employees well-being?
i've been here since march as a temp; got a full-time offer in december and almost immediately the workload has increased and there is no new hires are on the horizon.
the political games in some of these departments is mind-blowing.

(((Billygoat)))
I would offer to be your "temp" to help the overload, but since they won't hire someone I can't just march in!!!
I can give you a hug, all the way from Washington, will that help any?
I agree, it is hard to find a good company to work for that really "care" about a hard worker, like you. Keep on the lookout for a new job...leave your resume at temp agencies (I use to work at one, some will only hire thru temp services because of the screening process. A lot of state county and state jobs were issued thru our agency, in California)
The best offence for a job where you don't feel appreciated is taking the defence and looking for one that will!!!
Here's hoping you will find one soon.
