This is much too complicated!!! I'm divorced...I think that my ex was the first one to "fornicate" after the divorce. Does that make me free to marry another man? Or does this rule only apply to men?as usual with the WT. And, are these Bible based....or WT mumbo-jumbo?

Gopher....I'd say that U.2K. is a "duck". But, who am I to say....I'm just one of those worldly, apostate types. I would say that perhaps he/she needs to be invited to a holiday party....then he or she might not find them so BORING. This is my second year back in the holiday swing....my kids went carroling and raised money for a homeless shelter, with a co-worker, I organized donation boxes to take to a schools' giving tree, I gave to my family and friends....I felt much less selfish than when I was studying to be a Witness...and looking down my nose at all the "pagans".

last night mr. cb and i were watching the travel channel which had an interesting program about pretzels.
the pretzel was originally made in 620 a.d. by the monks.
the meaning of the shape of the pretzel we found even more amazing.
Don't forget the pagan Girl Scout Cookies. One thin mint, and you're going straight to sheol. Get involved with those worldly pretzels and Girl Scout Cookies....you never know what could happen. I wonder, too, what is left to eat....obviously, snack foods are dwindling off the list.

i just wanted to share my good news .i'm sure most of you have been married for a lot more than 5 years, so it might not be that big of a deal for you...but read on.. i wanted to hold out some hope for non-jws who are married to a jw (whether active or passive.
Happy Anniversary!!! And congrats also on being out and free! I was married 5 years one time, myself. It wasn't bad. Many happy returns on yours!

we have all read and watched so many of the child abuse / sexual abuse scandals, and it makes us all sick to our stomachs, i want to touch on a different kind of abuse, i am not trying to draw a parellel between child abuse and being abused.
the abuse i am talking about is just as bad but so different.
i remember growing up a jw, basically having no choice, whether i wanted to go to the meetings or in service, and i always resented this in my parents.
I think that I was one of those abusive parents. Not that I beat my kids into going to the meetings when I was studying with the jw's. But, I sure did guilt them into going. And, almost had them and myself convinced that Christmas and all holidays were evil. Had them missing one Halloween, and Christmas that year sucked! I forced them to go to those meetings, and my son, (he was 4 at the time), would always fall asleep. When I finally started to question the things that we were being taught, like "good hate" and "bad hate"(I never thought that there was a difference), or the evil of Girl Scout Cookies(huh?), I felt so bad because I had dragged the kids along. My guilt in leaving the studies, and the meetings was huge....I still thought that I was disappointing God. I wonder alot of times....how my kids felt when they stopped going to the meetings. I wonder if they had the same guilt feelings I did. I sure hope not.......
I'm still angry at the WT....2 years later...grrr
