Michael Keaton was my pick until the recent batman trilogy. Christian bale has done the best job at it but also the movies were good which I believe helps.

When did you start getting ANGRY?
by Separation of Powers inwhen i started the fade....i recognize that i was upset, mainly because of the desillusionment.
but, over the course of the past several months, i am noticing an increasing anger toward all thing org.
it can only be described as indignation, not simply upset.

It happened in various stages. I learned everything in the late 90s and was just a teenager. I would argue and argue with my mom. Eventually I almost ended up in a judicial comittee. Fast forward this many years the only anger I get is how obvious it is that its just a farse but my family gets more convinced it's the truth with each change. I know there is nothing I can say or do which I have come to accept for many years. My parents will grow old and die always convinced the end is so close.

My wife has zero interest in keeping up with anything. she could walk away and never ask a single question about the religion again. I on the other hand keep up on things. The difference though was that she never fully studied even when she believed it. So when there is a big change to something the chances of her knowing what the previous doctrine was is pretty slim. The arguments we have is that we are not fully out yet. She would walk away tomorrow but I need a slower fade because of family.

which book says it?
by sowhatnow inmy mom seems to railroad me into a debate at least once a week.. anyway long story short,.
she says 'there is no where in the literture that the wt writers claimed that a specfic year it was going to be armageddon.. well i thought there was, and id like to print it or show it to her, i have some older books but not many.. so, is there?
i told her that the wt claimed that 1975 was going to be the end, she said no, they said that was the beginning of the tribulation.. wow, she forgot about the most recent article ablout that already!.

one thing to keep in mind. JWs for many years will promote ideas that are not ever put in print. 1975 is the best example. If you lived through 1975 you know that talk after talk around the world promoted that 1975 was going to be the year. They never actually printed that statement though. JWs then can go back and say that it never happened because it wasn't in print, especially those that didn't live through it. You're embarking on a pointless journey in my opinion. No matter what you show her, she will have a retort or excuse.

Your argument can't be to disprove his scripture. As an atheist you do not believe in the bible. The argument between you two can only be whether the bible is the word of God or it isn't. Otherwise, how are you going to prove something to someone using a book you yourself do not believe in? The bible can be interpreted and twisted thousands of different ways and every belief system has a way to explain their idea as the only right way. If you do not want to come out and say you are an atheist, there is no argument to be made.

Let's Say 1914 Was The Establishment of God's Kingdom....what is the significance?
by minimus inas hillary clinton might say, what difference does it make???.
even if god's kingdom was established in 1914, why is that such a big deal?
other than unprovable actions in heaven, what can jws say is the significance of it all...with a straight face?.

I haven't read crisis of conscience for many years but I think ray franz indicated at that time at least that the governing body believed in what they were doing. I don't know why they wouldn't believe in it now. Sure they know that unity at all costs is of utmost importance but how successful can you be if you don't believe in what you are doing? I think they do believe in what they do and any type of success is positive reinforcement.

GB Doesnt Believe in 1914 Anymore My reasoning
by thedepressedsoul ini have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.
this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.
there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.

What is ironic about this thread and many threads just like it is that eliminating the 1914 year is repeatedly speculated on here, all the while next week there is a part on the service meeting on how to explain 1914. The part then references upcoming articles in the watchtower November 1 that too explains 1914. It's not going anywhere anytime soon!

The organization has proven they will and can change anything they want. I think they will always hold on to 1914 with significance. You probably nailed it on the head as it will always be when satan was cast down. I don't think (and I admit I could be wrong tomorrow) they will have to do any significant change until after 120 years has past from 1914. Jaydubs will grasp at anything to make it appear they fulfill old prophecy today. Every JW would gladly hold onto the 120 years of noahs day. Once that goes they will have to create something new. I have no doubt they will create something new and do it successfully when the time comes.
JWs will always say that people should have waited on Jehovah when it comes to people disagreeing with the organization. So even if thousands of people were DFd over 1914, most JWs would shrug that off as those people weren't humble and should have waited. An elder told me a featured video coming up on JW TV is how to explain 1914. So if that happens I don't see them having any plans of changes soon.
