I find it funny that ex witnesses get more worked up and excited about these things prior to them happening than active witnesses. They always think some hammer is gonna drop and then the organization is going to dissolve. It's like JWs always thinking their is going to be an announcement that the great tribulation has started at every major event. No one ever gets what they want.

Favorite Episode of Star Trek
by Coded Logic incalling all tos, tng, ds9, voyager, or enterprise fans, what's your favorite serries and why?
and what's your favorite episode and why?.
(too many choices on netflix for me to decide which to watch right now).

I grew up watching star trek the next generation but became more interested in deep space 9. Voyager got boring and I never watched enterprise. Sorry about favorite episodes, I don't really remember them. Start at episode 1, the beauty of netflix.

Don't forget how many people will say if they make any change and only after they make it, "I always thought there was something wrong with that, Jehovah has blessed us with the correct understanding."

How many lawsuits can the WTBTS absorb?
by Coded Logic init seems like the society has been desperately seeking ways to cut costs and boost reviniew (jw.org, kingdom hall programs, etc) over the past four or five years.
is this because donations are actually down?
or have they been preparing themselves for these lawsuits?
-

Well the real question is not how many lawsuits can they absorb but how many would they have to pay. So far these headlines are just headlines, they very well could end up winning in the appeals and pay nothing.

In all seriousness I don't think there is anything that would really test a JWs faith. I remember when they changed the generation teaching in 1995, there was really no shake up. Sure there were people here and there but no mass exodus. I bet they could present the trinity as a true doctrine and most JWs would accept it.

1914, they just had a part 2 weeks ago on how to explain it during the service meeting. As restated repeatedly they can hang onto that until at least 2034. Changes that could be a test of faith, perhaps, everyone should partake at the memorial. 144,000 is not literal. I expect nothing exciting from this zone visit at all. Just commenting to comment.

I think it will be boring, uneventful, and a waste of time. One elder asked in a group if anyone had a clue what they were going to do at the zone visit. He had no idea, and multiple elders couldn't even come up with the length of time it was going to be. No one knows anything. Don't get your hopes up.

comment from an uber dub regarding the $13.5 sex abuse case will just blow you away.
by joe134cd ini was talking to an uber dub friend last night who lives in the san diego area.
he knew nothing of the $13.5 million dollar law suit.
when i tried to tell him that this is a systemic problem, and that this could perhaps be the tip of the ice burgh.

Prepare that if this does catch legs, JWs will only say it is Satan attacking Jehovah's organization.

preface question:
by mohrb inorder of operations is important, so, i'll ask a question before i make assumptions and start "fixing things.".
obviously, the site heavily encourages the viewpoint of former j-dubs and others who have disagreements with the political posturing of the wbts.
i get that, and see your points.

Do you mean active people who defend JWs on the site? I am active, give talks, go in service, yet would be considered an apostate if the elders knew what I really think.
