As wifibandit pointed out you can prove using their own literature the 587 date. I would use the the January 1, 1965 Watchtower since it actually lists each king and how long they reigned EXCEPT for nabonidus. The article just happens to leave out how many years he was king. Get the Insight book and go to nabondius and it will say he is believed to have ruled for 17 years. Start at 539 bce using that 17 years and then count the years that the watchtower states in the article and you will get 587. This all will fall on deaf ears of course.

Changed: Head coverings for sisters, w15 2/15 QFR
by wifibandit indoes a female kingdom publisher need to wear a head covering if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher?.
in a questions from readers item published in the watchtower of july 15, 2002, it was stated that a sister should cover her head if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher, whether he is baptized or not.
further consideration of the matter suggests that a modification to this direction is appropriate.. if the male publisher who accompanies the sister while she conducts an established bible study is baptized, the sister would certainly want to wear a head covering.

I don't have a watchtower cd, I always enjoy looking back at an article that promoted something changed and all the scriptural support they pushed to validate it. Is there an article like this for wearing a head covering?

i have a theory about the long term doctrine of wt!
by purrpurr ini can see no reason why the gb would want to loosen their grip on their cash cow/ cushy life.
but what will they do in 20,30,50 years?
well i suspect that at some point they will claim that the promised paradise is already here but that it has come in spirtual form.

If you want to know what will happen to JWs just look at the Adventist movement. Start from the great disappointment of 1844. Armageddon didn't come. from that evolved the seventh day Adventist that now have over 18 million members. Many decades from now JWs will just have evolved into something else with more members. it's human stupidity that keeps things like these flourishing. I promise human stupidity is not going anywhere, ever!

As quickly as my mom was not encouraged by it, she now defends tomo. Give it a week and all JWs will have forgotten and moved on. This really won't get anywhere.

They will always use the return of Jesus and paradise. Every other religion does, so why can't they? They really don't have to worry about anything. JWs are so easily tricked with the light gets brighter concept that they really can tell them whatever they want. They can introduce anything and cite very vague scriptures to support it. In any case they have an easy 20 years ahead of collecting money with no problems until 2034. By then someone will have come up with something creative to do. They always need the end to be imminent. Old people die off and new people come along. The new people don't really think about how long the old people were around and the cycle just continues.

Rumor Elders Will Receive Name Badges For Every Meeting.
by HelpMeBelieve ini keep hearing rumors elders are going to be getting permanent badge cards to wear to every meeting.
one excited brother told me, "it would be nice if new ones to the kingdom hall could see who their shepherds are.
there is a great surge in activity, new bible students will be able to locate the proper elder in charge of bible studies!

A good example of not getting excited about stuff until it actually happens.

My mother was very cautious at first when talking about it. Eventually she admitted that she ended up not enjoying the zone visit. While she understood what Morris may have been trying to say, his delivery was terrible. She said she did not feel encouraged at the end. My mom is a die hard uber dub, so for her to say that it means that many people probably didn't enjoy that last talk. She said it was all his opinions even though he said that they weren't. She also said she would not be surprised if he was scolded for his talk by other members of the GB. My mom will never leave the organization but for her to say these things means they did screw up.
On the flip side I have seen social media posts of how they loved his frank straight forward talk. So take it all for what it's worth. A half a penny.

Nothing will wake them up. So far everyone that had a comment about Morris has said it's just his opinion and they don't agree. No amount of he is the GB and they approved this material matters. They just ignore and think how great the rest of the show was.

Probably eventually but you really are not missing out on anything. It's three hours wasted and I don't think the last talk was as big of a deal as people are making it. He received a thunderous round of applause when he finished at my hall.
