When the conti case happens JWs will just say either it is satan's persecution, or if in favor it is Jehovah's vindication. Either way is a win win for JWs. All of these threads predicting the imminent demise of the organization makes me want to research how many times people have posted that very thing in the last 13 years on this board.

After Six Months of Hiatus, I can tell you the Watchtower is Starting to Crumble Faster than you think!
by SanLuisObispoTruthSeeker ini took a hiatus from jwn because the wall started to collapse because i lost several people ive known almost my entire life.
these were people i thought would never die, the lies told by the watchtower is unforgivable!
there was a party i attended keeping a low profile while documenting what was said.

Wouldn't the mormons be considered a doomsday cult? They have double the members and have been around 50 years longer.

From someone that still has to go to meetings, I don't get this impression at all. Witneses love their website, tv broadcasting, and all the changes. I don't even hear people talk about the generations of 1914.

Couple questions....like if JW's not the right way then what is?
by world innew member here so don't attack :d here is a couple questions i have been contemplating lately.. .
if jw isn't the right religion, then which one is?
or is it basically believe in god, the bible and you'll be fine?.

1. There really is not a right answer to this. Every religion can be picked a part. A belief system is really for the individual's own identity. JWs need to feel they are different and are the only ones who know the truth. It is the indiidual jw who likes the beliefs and identifies themselves with it. Aside from anything else, there is no question that the organization since it's inception has not been able to predict one single thig right. That removes all credibility that god solely communicates with them.
2. This really tiea into question one. This is something you identify with and feel is important. Does it really mean anything? My hall when I was younger had a ministerial servant disfellowshipped for stealing money out of the sisters purses at the hall while they weren't looking. I realize you emphasized most but what experience do you have in truly trusting JWs? Do you do business with them? Have you loaned many to them? I personally went to a hall where I was the minority in my teenage years. Racism was alive an well in that hall and from what I her remains to this day.
3. I wholeheartedly agree win you here. This serves no purpose and actually feeds the idea that pripple that oppose JWs are crazed demon possessed monsters. But you have to understand a lot of people devoted their entire lives to this religion and finally found out it was all bogus. They are angry and feel cheated. That is why they do it but I do believe it hurts more than helps.
4. Why did Jehovah tell them this incorrect teaching for so long? Did he lie or did the governing body make it up? Aside from these questions a truly ingrained jw will dismiss these questions.
5. Because they want to make sure you don't question it to other people an start a problem.

why didn't Catholics implode from pedophilia? Why didn't the Adventist fade after the great disappoinent? Why haven't the Mormons disappeared with their history? Why are JWs still around with all of their failed and revised predictions? Two reasons. Tax free money and people want to be preached to. People don't need results, just the idea is good enough. JWs like all the rest are going to be around longer than any of us. I liken people thinking the jw implosion as imminent, no different than JWs thinking the end is right around the corner.

I am bringing this topic back up. I have seen this bible linked to a few times on facebook in the last couple days. So after doing some research it, as was hinted at two years ago, they are JWs. Here is the facebook page. You'll see they are very supportive and defending of JWs.

This religion is about to be toast.
by kneehighmiah inthe governing body is preparing to take a major hit.
this recent watchtower shows it.
not the new understandings, but the article on marriage.

Sorry, this religion isn't going anywhere. Tax free money is the key. JWs don't care about doctrine changes, don't care about child abuse lawsuits, they don't care about anything but their paradise. This religion will be around long after all of us are. It survived 1914, 1925, 1975, the generation that would not pass away. It will survive more.

Do Jws even need Jesus?
by TTWSYF injust thinking out loud becauseof some things my elder brother has said in the past.
how his works help ensure his future w/the great crowd on earth.. .
well, i need jesus for my salvation, but perhaps some of you do not.. just asking.

To put into perspective how JWs view Jesus.
I was conversing with a JW and they stated how it is up to Jehovah to judge our hearts.
Which I replied isn't Jesus who actually does the judging? She then said, well yes but according to Jehovah's will. Again I replied so then it IS Jesus who actually judges. She did finally concede that yes it was.
I then said I continually hear everyone say that Jehovah is King, when in fact isn't Jesus King? Again she had such trouble acknowledging that her "Jehovah" wasn't the only king but Jesus was king. She even said yes but that's because Jehovah has made him king but he will be king in the future. Again I countered with but that is not until AFTER the millenial reign. As of now and until the millenial reign begins, Jehovah has stepped back.
Even with what is clearly written in the bible, Jesus just isn't that important.

Reinstatement - repentance - works - Can you explain how this is supposed to work?
by berrygerry innov 15, 2006 wt.
when requesting reinstatement, he should be able to give evidence that he has repented and is producing works that befit repentance.acts 26:20.. .
how possibly can someone "give evidence" or "produce works"?.

Actually there are important things to be said. When deciding to disfellowship often times elders look at how the person is doing spiritually as a direct correlation to their repentance. Do they feel like they have jahs spirit, do they earnestly pray for forgivness as well as in everyday life. Do they talk as if they have a personal relationship with him.
Now you just apply the same when trying to get reinstated. Tell the elders how you did not pray to Jehovah and did not feel worthy to be one of his sheep. Tell them how you had a bad attitude and was critical of others in the congregation causing you to stray. Tell them you didn't pray, never studied for meetings, never did personal study. tell them you thought meetings were boring and disliked field service. Now bring on the works that befit repentance.
Tell them When you were disfellowshipped you never felt more empty and alone. You cried and begged Jehovah for help. As you got back to reading the bible everyday, studying for all the meetings, personal study you very slowly and gradually felt Jehovah giving you his spirit. You developed a spiritual routine everyday. As time went on you found yourself talking and praying to jehovah all day long everyday. You couldn't wait to go to the meetings even though no one could speak with you, just being around his sheep became so refreshing to you. You read every watchtower and awake as soon as it is available. After awhile all you could think about doing was how you need to preach to others about your god. It was then that it hit you just how much you not only hurt those who loved you but how much you hurt jehovah. Reflecting on it all became very emotional for you once again. but this time you gave a very long and heartfelt prayer to jehovah. You actually felt his spirit encouraging you and uplifting you. It was then you finally knew you were determined to never let this happen again and never let your spiritual guard down. It was then you realized you were determined to return to hi and be in good standing whenever Jehovah felt the time was right.
And that about sums up your works that befit repentance. And probably wouldn't be a bad letter requesting reinstatement.
