This is a phrase I believe was started to help ease the explanation for paradise never coming. In other words they came up with the phrase, even if paradise doesn't come, this is still the best life ever to live. It's really a mind game they're playing on themselves. They will say, I don't smoke, do drugs, have sex and catch disease, why would I want to have any other life? Oblivious to how many HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of people do this exact same lifestyle but aren't JWs. I always found it ironic that when you go to enough meetings and especially assemblies, all you hear about is how hard life is. How difficult things are, how much satan attacks them and so on.

The 26 Prophetic Failures of Watchtower’s Most Heralded Date, 1914
by FatFreek 2005 inbelow is a paste of the front of this, my recent, essay.
most jws, and lurkers here, have never really thought of the scope of watchtower's 1914 prophecy.
to them, 1914 was a simple one and done -- a mistake was made and it's been corrected.

I don't think 1914 will ever be a problem for the watchtower. They don't need or even use proof to make significant changes. For instance we went from a biblical generation of 80 years will not pass away to the overlapping generation with no scriptural proof, and everyone gobbles it up in excitement. There was an article criticizing opposers who said the FDS will the leaders and not the entire body of anointed remnant. The entire article showed scripture after scripture proving why the FDS was the remaining 144,000. Fast forward a few decades and it's changed to the very thing that opposers said it was with no scriptural proof. Witnesses gobbled it up.
Results don't really matter to the masses. People like to be preached to, it's what makes them feel good. Witnesses latch onto these changes and flip flops because it's the only changes they actually get to see in their lives. Since the Great Trib never comes and therefor no paradise, the next best things are all the new understandings and books. It brings renewed excitement and joy to their faith as if NOW this new book proves how close we are. Rinse, recycle, repeat.
So as it pertains to 1914. All they really have to do is say 1914 was actually the beginning of pangs of distress but not the begging of the last days as we once thought. Blah Blah Blah, the last days are either still to start in the future or started on any event they pick, lets pick 9/11/2001 for now. All the witnesses would gobble it up. Of course a few would recognize the absurdity and leave, but not many that it would even matter. When 1994 came and went, the watchtower has not have a down year after. 1914 will just become an important date but likely 1919 will become the important date with the appointment of the FDS. With no real time attached to it, witnesses will go on merrily growing old and waiting.

Much ado about nothing here. This is not a new revelation and when this is studied at the sunday meeting, the uber dubs will be the ones doing all the answering and putting the positive spin on it. "They are imperfect and make mistakes but make not mistake about it, this is Jehovah's organization. The world is wicked and you can only find the true love and brotherhood here. Whatever these very humble servants of God mistaken on, be assured Jehovah will fix it in his due time"
Very nice answer sister pioneer, lets move on to paragraph 10.
Side conversation in the audience, "where are we going for lunch"?

meeting with elders about WT involvement in UN
by LevelThePlayingField ini still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.
so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.
now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.

I've been in this situation before, in the same circuit as you I might add. This is bad news. You will end up having to pretend like they helped you see the light and are over the UN scandal. Otherwise they'll just ask more questions which ultimately leads to the "Do you believe the Governing Body are Jehovah's appointed faithful and discreet slave. You answer to that will depend on how much you want to keep your marriage together.

For JWs..Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The LIfe.
by somebody in· for what reasons does jesus have the formerly demonized man tell others about what jesus did?.
but jesus tells the man: “go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things jehovah has done for you and the mercy he has shown you.”—mark 5:19.. .
(mark 5:18-20) .

There are a lot of back and forth quotes that can be found throughout the years. Playing the JW advocate they would say Jesus did with the power Jehovah gave him, so Jehovah did it. Bases covered.

Morning Woship: Kenneth Flodin targets "apostates"
by Sanchy invideo is entitled "beware of deceit" he uses the letter of jude to show that current day apostates are deceitful and that they use "trickery" to and "twist facts" to try to "grab our mind".

All he has to do is say it on the broadcast and it will be so. JWs believe satan is so powerful and crafty that the ENTIRE internet is filled of lies and doctored information about JWs. You could show them with their own two eyes an article and they would believe someone made it up by satan. Then if you showed them the same article in the kingdom hall library that proves the same article was accurate they would make excuses that the light gets brighter and it's no big deal.

More Shootings ... 3 Louisiana Police Killed ... 3 More Injured
by RubaDub inextremely sad as the news is coming out.
6 police shot in louisiana and 3 dead so far.. i'm waiting for a response from the nra stating that we are safer when we are all armed.

I posted on this type of topic a few shootings ago. At least 51% of United States citizens have made it clear they would prefer to do nothing about guns. In fact they would rather have mass shootings in night clubs, of police officers, and even elementary students than do anything about guns. Think about that, we had a mass shooting at an elementary school where 20 children aged 6 amd 7 were killed and gun lovers would rather have that happen AGAIN than do ANYTHING about guns.

At the very beginning they say Jesus is Jehovah, every JW will dismiss every sound out of their mouth after that. FAIL. This is at the Nutter Center in Dayton Ohio.

Trump or Contested Convention?
by Coded Logic infor those of us who are hillary and bernie fans, which is the better outcome - to have donald trump as the republican's nomination whose unpopular with most americans?
or are we better off watching the chaos of a contested convention and the party eventually putting up someone weak like john kasic or jeb bush?

I find politics interesting as I think anything can happen. The GOP problem is as far as I can tell the republican voters that care to vote in primaries have stated that the majority prefer Trump. If their own party says screw you republican voters we will put in who we want, they would in my belief hand the presidency to Clinton. On the flip side Trump is controversial and has created skeptics on what type of president he could actually be. The GOP only hope in my opinion is for trump to get the nomination and turn into a very presidential candidate. Otherwise, it's Clinton's to lose. -

London Ohio and Indianapolis Assemby Halls to be sold
by munchausen inannounce was made this week that the assembly halls in london, ohio and indianapolis indiana will be sold and a new 3000 seat assembly hall will be built in southwest ohio.
the assembly hall in london ohio was built in the 70's and is in fine shape - nothing wrong with it.
the new one will cost around 8-9 million.

This whole plan went bust. They tried getting land in Ohio and the community fought it. The community ended up winning. Last announcement I remember was over 5 million dollars has been raised. Guess what happened to that money? It went into the org coffers when they reorganized their building projects that all building projects must go through the branch. Just like that a 5 million dollar donation.
