Great topic and posts James et al,
As usual, I am being completely challenged in mind, heart and spirit. I can hear a limb cracking and see some anthropromorphic microorganisms quietly dying...
I look forward to more, and the new topic!

the following is an interesting new arcticle on the freeminds site:.
http://www.geocities.com/thewatchtowerstudy/bible.htm.
it gives interesting information on jw bible interpretation gymnastics regarding verses on jesus, showing that the wt in effect rejects the plain teachings of the bible regarding jesus.

i run into sister k. at her office sometimes.
everytime i do we 'get into it' about how awful things are in the.
organization.
One of the things I noticed immediately when I attended a few meetings with my reinstating dub-hub was how absolutely miserable and depressed all the women in the congregation looked! They all had this far off "save me from this hell" look. I haven't gone back since.

first, and most important: thanks to all those who read my introduction-post last saturday, and especial thanks to those who replied.
like many who have been disfellowshipped (and especially those raised in the org) i've been dragged through icy waves of agonizing hurt and anger; often followed by times of peace and letting go; only to be hit by another turbulent and bitter bout of animosity and grief.
the tides do run deep, don't they.
I am bringing this bttt because this is exactly what I was just trying to explain to my reinstating husband. I think it is extremely pertinent to bring up again, especially in light of the Elizabeth Smart movie that was just aired last week. I agree with JT's commentary on this "phenomena" that I myself have been watching, and want absolutely no part of. I know that there are several different religions of the world that practice various forms of this phenomena, but few to the extreme of the WTBTS. How can we "Love one another as I have loved you" in shunning family or the people we are supposed to love AS ourselves? Do we shun ourselves? I hate it that they use the terminology of "Tough Love" in regards to this behavior! This has got to be the FARTHEST thing from Christian love I have ever (pun intended) witnessed....

ok i rarely ask questions but hey i might as well do this too.
but to make life a lot easier for you i will put tham all in one thread when you first came here what did you expect?what were you looking for?did you find it and if so how?if you were looking for information how did you look for it - ask a question?
wander through the threads?
My story is very close to "jgnat". Almost exact. For this reason, I have not really felt much of a freedom to participate because I am NOT an ex-JW. I have found that if you are NOT an ex-JW, you are basically ignored. However, I have read so much good info on this site it has been well worth visiting time and again. I have tended to be overwhelmed by a lot of the info here, as it is all pretty new and downright scarry to me. But I would rather be informed than ignorant any day. I have come to realise that my second marriage of only three years to my "almost reinstated" husband is most likely going to end. It is very sad and depressing to me that this organisation destroys so many individuals and families. I appreciate all who HAVE taken the time to respond to me, and the few who welcomed me. I will be leaving soon because I know enough now of what the future holds for me and my son, and to keep returning is just too overwhelming for me. I am very appreciative that this site is here, and will highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest.

every year, on the nearest sunday to november 11, silence is observed nationally to honour the dead of 2 world wars.
the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month is how it's recalled.
i heard this poem on the radio yesterday.
Ah hem...will someone please tell me how to get this awful blue off my posts? I am such an obnoxious newbie....

We have poppies here too Simon-and even though I personally do not have any veterans in the family, I always buy a few. I am so sentimental that I hug the vet selling them and tell him "Thank you" for fighting for our country. Both of us end up all teary eyed, but I think it is so important that these folks know that they are appreciated!

hey guys,.
alrighty.
enjoying being single.. right now i have a "worldy" girlfriend (note the quotes " ").. but there's this incredibly beautiful jw girl that has shown interest in me.. (i'm not df or da, just not going to meetings.
"I know I'm a man that knows how to take care of a woman."
It's glaringly obvious to me that the only way you may possibly be able to "take care" of a woman is in bed. If you really were able to take care of a woman, you would not be contemplating "trading up" to the new and hot-off-the-assembly-line JW model without even a hint to your current lover. I would venture a guess that she has much more of herself involved (i.e. her heart) than you seem too (i.e. your dick). I think this thread and you are disgusting, but for what it is worth as a non-JW married to a reinstating dub,
I vote WORDLY

Phantom, that is not at all what this thread is about. JT echos the desire of many who truly love and care for a JW, or anyone who is completely brain washed by a cult. Although knowledge is wisdom, no amount of scriptural or doctrinal knowledge on a non-JW's part will work.
This fable comes to mind, and I am certain many here know it: One day the Mighty Wind proposed a challenge to his brother the Sun. "You see that man walking down there with his coat so tightly wrapped around him? Let us see which one of us can get his coat off the fastest!" Brother Sun accepted the challenge, and proceeded to watch with keen interest as the Mighty Wind blew and blew his biggest and stongest breaths at the man. But, the man drew his coat tighter and tighter around him in response, leaning hard against the merciless wind.
The Sun laughing, said "Now it is my turn dear brother!" The Sun came out slowly, burning brighter and brighter until he reached full radiance. The man, looking up and around at the sudden change in weather, smiled and simply removed his coat.
