A couple of years ago of years ago my very young kids ( 3 & 5 at the time ) were given some of the bread after the meeting! aparently it was just handed round the the little ones. when my husband was an elder he sometimes got to take the wine home. not after we were married though! unfortunatly.

Has anyone ever munched at the memorial?
by Sirius Dogma ini have always wanted to do that at a kingdom hall.
over the past few years i celebrated pesach (passover) with some jewish friends and it was so cool to be able to munch the food.
besides the jewish tradition was much more fun and was more like a party.

my first post in this forum
by trumangirl inhello, just introducing myself.
i'm an inactive witness, been so for a few months now.
got put off mostly by 1914 being hammered more and more lately, the child molestation issue, the un-ngo thing and just feeling like i don't want to shoot my mouth off and get labelled apostate so best to fade out.

A shout out and a word on hypocrisy

hi joel, i am new here so first of all "hello!"
hypocrisy is infuriating and you make a good point. i just want to point out though that we all are guilty of this at times but not always intentionaly. life is usually stressful for most of us and it is easy to get so rapped up in our own problems that we forget to look out for the needs of strangers,or even people we know.
when i watch appeals on t.v. for various charitys, i always want to help but tell myself i cant give to them all, so i just continue to suport the ones that realy hit home, then i will sit down to a meal, knowing that people are dying of starvation, others are sleeping on the streets and need to put their lifes' at risk just to eat.
i am just saying we are all guilty of not doing enough for the needs of others.

Please wish me luck...
by safe4kids ini've got the first part of my state certification this morning...a three hour exam covering the last month and a half of training on state law, the judicial system, case practice, interventions, indicators of maltreatment and abuse et cetera and i've got anxiety out the wazoo (btw, does anyone know what a wazoo is??).
i have to pass this in order to keep my job and i've heard that it's pretty difficult, so i'm stressing just a wee bit.
i'm thinking the gallon of coffee i've already had this morning may not have been such a good idea??

Baptism Protocol
by Sargon in.
i'm wondering wether or not non-witness friends or relatives are welcome at, or invited to a baptism?
?
-
pudd
To answer the original question, yes. when i got baptised my not believing parents came. I think under normal curcumstances it would be seen as a "good witness" to invite people who would otherwise be unlikely to attend a meeting.
In this case however, I am with sentinel. I wonder why you are considering going. my personal opinion is that we need to respect peoples choises. I would never activley try to interfere with some one else's faith, as I would not want anyone to interfere with mine. I think it is better to respectfully stay away.
If however your intention is just to quitely observe, and the person getting baptised wants you there, I see no reson why you shouldn't go.

Curious about something ?
by Nadsam inwho has the real truth then ?.
i found this forum last year and since then i have read many posts.
many people are still eager to quote from the bible etc.its almost as if they are still jw's.

When I told witness friends I was no longer going to be a witness myself, they all asked me the same question; "What now? Where will you go?" All seemed to think that if I no longer believed they had "The Truth", then I must need to look eleswhere.
I had no desire to find another religion and this is something they could not understand.
Thank you bisous, you said it all. It is W/T indoctorination, that conditions people to believe there is one "Truth". I had never though about it like that.
