I read it from front to back in one sitting. I knew that my life would never be the same.

our two eldest sons and their wives went to las vegas for the week today.
i have the 2 year old son of one son and the 14 year old daughter of the other son, for the week (until friday).
the girl (carlie) is an absolute dream, so helpful and has a great personality, but she goes to school everyday.
I am smiling when I read this. Wow, do I remember those terrible two's like they were yesterday! I had four that I swear took years off of my life! And, on top of that I provided daycare in my home for years for preschoolers. It is definitely harder to watch preschoolers that are someone elses than your own!
Kids of preschool age love crafts. I always had a craft hour when we would make refrigerator magnets, paint tee-shirts, make popsicle stick boxes....there are tons of projects to keep any preschooler busy for about an hour or so. The trick is to wear them out in the morning so that they take a long afternoon nap. It is your only time to re-coup and get anything done around the house! When you have a very active two-year old away from their parents and their regular routine, it all adds up to trouble! You have my sympathy! Rides in the car are also good, strapped in that car seat they can't get into any trouble and usually fall asleep after a while. Car rides when the kids were young were my savior!
Just remember though, with small preschoolers, threats really don't work. That just works the kid up more. Bribery is Best! Bribes of candy, presents, and trips to the park are high on the list. And, kids eat when they are hungry, so don't worry about that. Good Luck Mulan, sounds like you are going to need it!

yep, she does indeed.
tomorrow, may 28, is her birthday.
she's not sensitive about her age, so i can tell you that this is indeed a big one.
Congratulations to Her Ladyship!
Sounds like you guys will have a great time! Happy, Happy!

hi, i wonder if someone can give me some information on the disfellowshipping/reinstating process.
i appealed my disfellowshipping and at the appeal hearing they went to deliberate.
they spent 10min on their own, over an hour with the original committee, then 5-10 min on their own again before disfellowshipping me.
Hi Gadget:
You need to have a long talk with your fiance. She needs to know EVERYTHING before you take that walk down the aisle. Of course I don't know you or your situation, but since you are here on this board, you are living in two different worlds. You have to choose one or the other, because mixed JW marriages DON'T work! I am speaking from experience here. It is Hell on Earth when marriage partners are on different "spiritual" levels. I wish you well, but it sounds like a bumpy road ahead.

today is memorial day in the united states, a day when soldiers killed in war are honored.. those who served their country, died for their country, ......are remembered.
accolades, parades and flowers are all over the place but no money!!!!.
some soldiers qualify for food stamps, veterans are fearful of more cuts to their benefits.

There will always be those who abuse any system of government. No government will be able to provide 100% for every one of its citizens. I am not an apologist for the US government, but I am proud to be an American and respect other's opinions here who voice their disgust over the problems that must be addressed to improve the quality of life in America.
In honor of my Grandfather and Father who served in the Armed Forces, and for my Uncle Charlie who never came home.....
Proud To Be An American

If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life. And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife. I’d thank my lucky stars, to be livin' here today. ‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away. And I’m proud to be an American, From the lakes of Minnesota, That I’m proud to be an American, And I’m proud to be and American, And I gladly stand up, |
i have been "lurking" (my apologies to anyone who is irritated or offended by that) for some time now.
i was raised as a jw - i had the dubious honor of being a presiding overseer's daughter.
my little bro and i were perfect little dubs (or is it "duds" ?!
Welcome Hopeful!
Glad you joined the board after lurking. It took me a while lurking before I posted too.
I hope that things work out with the kid's grandmother. Maybe you guys can come to a decision to not talk about religious things while you are together (especially with the kids), and that way everyone will be happy. This is almost impossible for most JW's, but it has worked (for the most part) in my family, and every one is happy (for now). Good Luck!
Mrs. Shakita
Hope you have a good one!
