found these gems in this edition:.
- keep in expectation!- prepare now for life in the new worldthe passing of time should not cause us to lose hope thatkingdom blessings will be realized.
there are solid reasonsto keep our scriptural expectations alive.
"Sticking with those who are guided by God-given wisdom will help us to “stand firm in the faith” during these very difficult times"
Who are those? The self-acclaimed fds? All 8 million?
So, if a JW wakes up, is that because of God-given wisdom and should therefore be supported / recommended for it?

Today, of course, we do not know where each one of us may be assigned to live in the new system of things. However, cooperation will bring us contentment and great happiness as we do Jehovah’s will wherever we live on earth at that time
The what about seeing the deceased loved one again??? He/she might be assigned to live I am not assigned to....(some might be very happy with that)..
This statement kills their doctrine that "JW's will see their deceased loved ones"
not sure if my title is correct.
what i noticed is that in say secular bible research documentation, books, lectures etc, one never (or at least i have never read it) reads a quote from one of the former or current wbts leaders nor do i ever see a reference to one of their publication (unless it is article about the jw/wbts itself).. for example, if you read a book on a bible theme or topic written by a scholar or other bible teachers/professors from prof xyz, you will find often in these books a reference to publications / statements / quotes from other scholars or professors.
but never have i seen a reference to say a wt publication or quote / statement from one the leaders of the organisation.. so, despite the million page printed or conferences organised by the wbts, the material apparently is never considered of value to others or to use as reference material.. in my view, that says a lot..... or am i wrong?

there is a lot of talk on how much the organization has and how much they receive in contributions.
now with the latest begging video from lett, maybe we as an ex jw community, try to figure this out together.. this is just an idea and i want to get other opinions on this.. if enough members who actually know the figures from their (last) kh for the building fund and other contributions are willing to enter this information on a website, we can use these figures to estimate the actual amount the organization is receiving from the publishers.. the figure will never be accurate, but i think it would be fun..
any ideas what this is about?
- apparently a three hour public address through each kingdumb hell from the gb.
anyone heard anything about this?.
Makes sense, DUBAI is such a poor, underdeveloped and remote country that a branch office from the UK should look after Dubai........
dear all,i am a student writing my thesis in the netherlands on feelings of belongings in jehovah witnesses, techniques used for conversion and experiences of ex witnesses.
i would appreciate if anyone is willing to talk to me.
i can provide more information about my research.

i never have been or will be a jw, i honestly hate the wt (not the jws).
being married to a jw, can sometimes make you crazy, i never believed any of the bs.
i am a member on new testament scholar bart ehrman's blog, and the professor is currently outlining a new book he is writing about false memory and the life of jesus.. an interesting post occurred today in which he gives an example of a very famous scripture,.
example of a false memory of jesus teaching i turn to a famous passage in the gospel of john, jesus dialogue with nicodemus (john 3:1-15).
nicodemus is said to be a jewish leader who comes up to jesus and affirms that jesus must come from god because of the great things that he said to have done.
I do not know the background fully other then what I read in John about this.
If the language spoken was Aramaic then what happened is that the capture of the event was translated from Aramaic into Greek. In other words, the conversation happened in Aramaic but Nicodemus did not grasp it fully and was wondering what to do.
In any language, if someone says to you that you "have to be born xxxx" (where xxxx is the Aramaic word Jesus usd and for which in Greek there is word with two meanings, again or from above), is rather confusing.
The same with other expressions, like when you read we need to eat His flesh or drink His blood. Most Jews did not grasp the meaning and felt offended and left.
It does not mean the event did not happen. The confusion is often generated due to translations. Very often languages cannot be translated 1:1 into another language. Because a language originates and develops independently from other languages.
I therefore believe that the event happened and that the original Greek translator had to use a word in Greek that happen to have 2 meanings. Did he choose the right word? Did he really undrstand the original Aramaic word that Jesus and Nicodemus used? Those are problems for the translator not for the original players of the event, nor for the reliability of the event itself.
Technically, I could live with the following translation for this:
.... have to be born again, from above.
Both meanings of the Greek word fit here, because, if one needs to be born again, it can only be from above, as physically, it is simply not possible.
And I fully understand the confusion with Nicodemus because if someone would say this to me in Dutch, my mother tongue, where in this case there is not one word that means both again and from above, the use of either would still be very confusing:
...have to be born again is just as confusing as have to be born from above.
