  yesturday, i was talking to a friend and she said that in order to get a degree from a local college, they require a completed a public speaking course.

  i said that was no problem, because i had been in a public speaking school for 40 years.

  she looked at me like i had three heads.

  i have quite a big group of friends who were all in the cong together when we were teens.

  about 75% of them stopped going or were df'd right after high school.

  it is a varied group; a couple are staunch apostates, some dont care one way or another, and another handfull are fully "worldly", but still believe it is the truth.

  for example, anotony morris (the turd) and his idiotic 'tight pants' monologue is a perfect example.

  did folks who attended this summer's conventions hear any statements from the gb members that would indicate they might be in early stages of senility?

  I watched and where in the world would you come up about the watchtower paying CNN off?

  The program is about catching a criminal not expose doctrines and policy.

  Glad they ran it and JW were mentioned so that it might open somebodies eyes when they come and knock on their door.

  recently i was going through some of my old storage boxes and came across my 1988 copy of the watchtower issued book "revelation.

  its grand climax at hand!".

  as i flipped through its pages i was reminded how blinded i was in regards to rational thinking.

  We all had doubts about all the bullshit from the GB, primarily the whole book of Revelation was fulfilled with people like Rutherford, Russell and the other idiots in Brooklyn.

  Let's not forget the thick green book about Daniel that we studied in the 70s, written 2600 hundred years ago also came to be fulfilled in the days of the watchtower and the GB.

  I despise the watchtower leaders but as far as we know no raping of 12 years old by the leaders.

  The GB can be compared to Jeff Warner though...they also demand complete obedience.

  Question for current and former elders: did you feel qualified to give counsel for depression?

  do you feel the counseling demands placed on elders are fair and scriptural?.

  i live in an economically depressed industial city.

  my dad is an elder in a lower income black congregation.

  Was an elder for 21 years and never felt qualified in giving counsel or having wisdom on how to cope with depression.

  The usual recipe was "pray and go out more and assist others in the field ministry and will get your mind off your problems".

  I have to say that where i served in TN there were quite a few elders taking medication for depression.
