  Name Some Things That JWs Look Down Upon That Normal People Wouldn't Even Think About?

  jws look down on others for saying, "bless you" if someone sneezes.

  it has something to do with the demons.

  another example is that it is considered satanic if a man took his hat off for a lady!

  i was raised and baptised as a very serious jw.

  every waking moment of my day was lived for jehovahs and his organization and for nothing else.

  Fading, Stopping Meetings, DA or DF'ing, Thoughts on Getting the Hell Out Of There

  so i read some threads about why someone remains a ministerial servant or elder, or why they are still active jw's.

  others are telling stories about how they cut back slowly, and some of them got removed as ms/elder/pioneer or whatever.

  yet others tell of how they just up and stopped going one day.

  Freaking delusional mariage mates..

  ok so our dc was last week and we live about an hour and a half away from the meeting site.

  so earlier in the year i heard my wife mention something about staying near by in a hotel.

  now i'm thinking what the hell in a major city with several people shes going to have to get 2 rooms and the cost is going to be crazy high.

  Advice Needed

  so my situation is changing and i am trying to figure out the best way for me to handle this.

  i am an unbaptized publisher married to a dub who was inactive when we met and when we married and during the course of our marriage, and just went back active a year and a half ago.

  he is a full believing dub.

  Hi Hey There. Just popped in to see how you were doing. The only advice I have is to be true to yourself.

  My son had a workshop about dealing with peer pressure.

  Some of the advice they gave: if someone wants you to do something ,

  First assess : what are the dangers? Do you feel comfortable doing that activity? Will it cause trouble for you or others?

  2nd respond: if the activity makes you uncomfortable suggest an alternate activity .

  Example: sorry I have other plans, or let's do this instead.

  3. Walk away but leave the door open... talk to you later ect.

  The point was for the kids to be able to have a response ready and not be confrontational. Just let them know its not right for you.

  What do you know about "Personal Mythology?"

  our group has been introduced to the term "personal mythology".

  so far we think this area of study has potential to explain the actions of the governing body and all in the "organization".

  perhaps not a substitute for the term "cognitive disonance", but an additional term that adds insight into the thinking of jehovah's witnesses.

  .. the new wbt$ donation arrangement/ jw kingdom hall bank account theft... is a very hot topic right now... the wbt$ is literally going to clean out kingdom hall bank accounts,filled with donations from jws... that theft is going to happen world wide..the wbt$ is going to steal from 7 million plus jw`s... .. we have jw elders here on jwn,that know whats going on... they "serve" in kingdom halls,they are "supposed" to be looking after the welfare of the average jw... they know there is a 4 page letter,only one page will be read to the congregation..the rest will be kept secret... they know the wbt$ is about to steal jw donations..on a world wide scale!!!...

  .. i would like to know what you active jw elders are going to do about this??!!...

  are you going to let "your" congregation know about the other 3 secret pages?...

  Focus: I remember looking through that book when I was a child. That was the first book we studied as a family. My mom would let me bring that book to the meetings to look at. Those pictures terrified me.I knew what would happen to kids that made Jehovah sad.
