I think the WT's views have become more fudged over time - particularly as we've become more multi-cultural with a mix of nationalities living and working together - much like DoC states

DesirousOfChange - Personally, I now always stand -- out of respect -- just as every person of every nation does t the Olympics for the National Anthem of other countries. Clearly they are NOT showing any loyalty to other nations. Nor or they "praying" in behalf of other nations. They are merely showing respect.

But prologos probably best sums up WT's general view very succinctly

prologos - The idea was that give honour to the one demanding honour. you always stayed a notch below the crowd, you can stand, but not raise your arm to Heil, or cover your heart, or sing.

The real problem though - and therefore the real fudge - is highlighted by stuckinarut2

However from the point of view of expression I am intentionally more free. If in general the acting and photography are in a naturalistic direction, and often the machine by hand contrib ute to the feeling of watching a real movie theater, in many cases directed it performs stronger and explicit choices: not with an intention Mannerist but to help give more lyricism, to gauge the emotional temperature, to increase the suspense and the drama of a scene. Sometimes then the machine by hand is replaced by the carriage, the diegetic music becomes extradiegetica, the sound is batting, the assembly becomes more expressive.

I've seen the new style and it was built at least 2years ago, in tacoma was on Hosmer. Wonder why they bother with old style after all the build up?

Hi Magnum!

So, it was built late summer 2015? Was that before the org introduced and adopted the newer style? Or was this one for some reason built after the introduction of the new style?

I think it's probably to do with the lead-time from buying land, getting permission to build, buying / designing materials and framing, RBC / LDC scheduling build time - and then the actual build - there's always going to be some overlap.

Oh, and interesting how the videos of the Dedication Programme have been on youtube for nearly three weeks, then, within something like 10 hours of my opening post above, they're made 'private' haha!!

Hi never a jw!

Two hours of video. Can you give us the gist of it?

I did - it follows the Meeting Schedule / Workbook - the link I provided is a direct link to the actual material being used and discussed during this very meeting.

I posted this video mostly for informational purposes only - it's not something that many will want to watch, but some may be interested in seeing how the new style meeting format plays out in a bog-standard congregation during a standard mundane week.

Some may also be interested to see how the discussion of the God's Kingdom Rules! book is going too - that's the last 30 minute section of the meeting.

Some people may even recognize the KH.

hi everyone, .

i have been trying really hard to find the court case transcript where steven unthank was in court in australia and one of the wt lawyers or a wt spokesperson said the faithful and discreet slave does not exist.. i hope that this is correct i remember reading about this a long while back and would love to get evidence of this.. i found steven on facebook and messaged him about 6 months ago and he didn't respond, he probably wants to let all this go, and i don't blame him for that.. any suggestions would be very much appreciated.. thanks wgo..
