  Irrespective of the settlement, this means that the decision stands (unless they have made some extreme backroom deal - which would go totally against what Candace set out to accomplish).

  And the article's conclusion is to the left of the drawing.

  So that friends, is the concept of "the real life."

  Unless the accident involved your family. Like if you plowed into them and put them all in the hospital with serious injuries. You might get the cold shoulder for a while.

  Small details...

  a witness friend wanted to meet up recently and talk.

  since this person was a close friend and who i thought had a level head, i'd go ahead and speak with him.

  our conversation actually helped me figure a few things out not only for myself but also about the witnesses.. so we're talking and i'm telling him my experience and the doctrines that i disagreed with as well as the scandals that made me disgusted with the organization.

  well, i don't wanna rant too much but sometimes things cut you don't they.. a family member had a get together for the family, jw and non jw and of course i wasn't invited being da'd.. i understand why they couldn't invite me but it just made me think.

  in normal society this wouldn't happen.

  i'd have been there.. the shunning is so unnatural and damaging.

  I'm sitting at the Regional Convention after having been disfellowshipped only a couple weeks ago. I don't understand why the elders encourage you to come to this. I understand wanting you to be encouraged, but my entire time so far has been seeing people in my hotel, around the city, and in the stadium that I've known all my life look at me and light up a little like old friends do then quickly remember my status and divert their eyes to the ground and walk away. I understand people shouldn't talk to me. But it's hard swallowing this as a loving provision. I should've saved the money on a hotel and stayed home. I'm not going to get anything out of the program. You know how you can feel people in your own hall looking at you when you're df'd, just multiply that by a few hundred. Now I guess my weekend is anxious vomiting and watching some dramas.

  Sorry for the rant. Needed to say this to SOMEone. Having grown up in the truth I don't have a lot of best friends I Can talk to now about my situation.

  Edit: don't want to seem self inflicting. I'm here with my wife and baby. Don't want to Just leave her.

  Not sure if their banner ads show up when you're on Simon's site or not, but they do for me. (Occasionally do click-throughs - hope you get a couple of shekels each time.)
  

  I used them years ago, and know a number of Dubs that use them. If accurate, their homebase is a bedroom community outside of Simon's city. (A touch of irony.)

  Game of Thrones - Shunning

  i waited a week to avoid any spoilers.. last week's episode was harsh, to say the least.. a live burning-at-the-stake of a child to please the gods.. and yet, we have conventions taking place around the world - with bravos to those parents who sacrifice the emotional well-being of their children by shunning them.

  clap-clap-clap.. what is worse, killing them outright, or the long, drawn-out emotional sacrifice demanded by the modern-day baal, gb 2.0?.
