Interesting post regarding validity of CSA claims in ARC
by berrygerry inone of the key submissions to the arc was a document wat.0021.001.0001, which is a spreadsheet summarising the 1006 case files subpoenaed from the wt's australian branch and is available on the arc website.
i had a detailed look at the data and discovered a few things that may be of interest:.
although the 1006 cases cover reports made in a 65 year period from 1950 to 2015, almost half of all cases (449) were first reported in the 10 years from 2000 to 2009 and 87% were first reported after 1990.. the two witness rule was a factor in preventing at least 125 cases from proceeding to a judicial committee.. there were 163 cases with 336 victims where the perpetrator was an elder or ms.. the total number of victims was 1,858.. from time to time on this forum i have read comments suggesting that false reports of child sexual abuse are quite common.

From time to time on this forum I have read comments suggesting that false reports of child sexual abuse are quite common. All of the evidence I have seen suggests that it is uncommon. The ARC case file data contains evidence that most of the reports were reliable. There was a confession in at least 579 cases. An additional 163 cases involved multiple accusers. An additional 70 cases had sufficient evidence for the accused to be disciplined by a JW JC. An additional 16 cases showed evidence of secular court action and conviction. That means that there were good grounds for believing the accusers in at least 828 cases. Many of the remaining cases were not acted on internally due to the two witness rule. It is sobering to contemplate.

Meanwhile, in the newly published video, the bible study is told the study is being discontinued because he is not taking steps to be a Jehovah’s Witness.
Interesting to see this direct conflict and publicizing of a formerly unspoken, quiet rule.

Printed vs Produced
by Rattigan350 inin the january 1, 2015 watchtower it says printing each issue 52,946,000 in 228 languages semimonthly.
in that 2016 #1 issue watchtower it says produced each issue 58,987,000 in 254 languages monthly.
what is the difference between printed and produced?.

He then mentions 20 congregations in Vancouver were dissolved and bro/sis being redistributed as boundaries change with new congregational set ups. He tells us that it’s onky reasonable for us to expect the same changes here. (We are in a major city, in another province.) My heart pounded when he said he didn’t have any ‘insider info’. He doesn’t know the reason for these changes. And this is when my blood boiled: He tells us that even though we don’t know why, and even if we are asked to do things that don’t make sense to us, we must comply!

DISCLAIMER : I am NOT a legal expert and i am herein translating the gist of a judgement handed down today by the judge, so it's possible that not everything in here is 300% precise. I was not in court myself so I can't even speak from experience. All I have is the judgement document.
Ok guys, on my cell, so gonna try to keep it short.
Yesterday, the court heard reps for the American chapters of the bOrg.
They essentially wanted to be excused from any legal proceedings as they argued that the court did not have jurisdiction to render judgement on them. This would leave the fourth chapter, WTBTS of Canada alone to defend itself. I suspect it's better for the bOrg to try to minimize the amount of its legal entities that are being looked at by the courts.
WT had three reps for WTBTS-NY (NY), WTBTS-Pennsylvania (PENN) and CCJW.
NY was none other than Bro Gary Breaux. PENN was Richard Devine. CCJW was Thomas Jefferson (him again!)
The court agreed to hear them but said that their statements needed to stick to the subject and not defend the case. In other words, explain to the court why you must be "excused", and do not present information that should be heard by the court at a later time, such as when the actual debating of the class action would take place.
The declarations of Gary Breaux and Richard Devine were found to not answer the criterion explained above. Therefore the requests to have NY and PENN "excused" (sorry, don't know the proper legal term) were denied.
However, Jefferson explained that CCJW was formed in 2000 (a later date than the events around the situation of Lisa Blais, the pursuant). Also, he said that CCJW is active in USA, Bermuda and the Caribbean, but NOT in Canada. (I did a major WTF when I read that bit) Therefore, the court approves that his declaration be given and he will be cross-examined at a later time, likely in the coming days, if not today.
That is essentially it. So PENN and NY are still on the hook. As for CCJW, they still have to plead their case to get off the hook. I am very interested to see how this goes, as I remember reading or hearing that in one of the recent American court cases, Tom Jefferson majorly shat the bed in precisely one of these insane explanations of why CCJW has nothing to do with the rest of the bOrg.

Watchtower Corp Inc of New york is worth OVER $2 BILLION. Christian cong is worth $49 million. They obviously have other corporations like W Corp of Pennsylvania and overseas branches, but it's a bloody healthy bank balance.
There is a big difference between net worth and cash in the bank.
