i am not a jehovah's witness, nor have ever been.
i cannot even come close to relating what that is like.
however, my husband has been studying with them.
I am so sorry you are going through this. You are NOT being selfish. You deserve to have your beliefs respected, and not be constantly over-ruled just because his beliefs have changed. If he believes the JWs are wrong, why does he still agree with so many of their beliefs, particularly the thing about holidays? Has he explained why he feels the way he does?

even so, i realize how difficult it may be at times to find the words to convey well wishes for someone who's suffering and striving so hard to overcome extreme circumstances.. .

i had posted a few times since my awakening asking how best to talk to my wife about my new take on things.
i was very afraid of handilng it poorly and chasing her deeper into the organization.

what i was thinking about is, since most of us that post on jwd remain annonymous, i wonder how many of us know someone else that posts on this site, but dont know that they post on this site... i keep hearing of new apostates (people that are aquaintances of mine) that are popping up... and i notice that a few people here are from ontario, canada.
too bad i may never know who you are, even though i may know who you are (get it???!!!).
it really spells out to me just how afraid most of us are.
I would be so happy if I found out that just one JW I know was posting (or even lurking) here.

I will definitely say a prayer for you. I once had a really nice bible discussion with my mom, and got her to think about a bunch of things. She said she would look for the answers and get back to me. I have a feeling that whoever she went to for help with the questions "encouraged" her not to talk with me about it anymore. So I will pray that your mom keeps this study just between the two of you. Keep us updated!

well, the wife and i got the word last night while talking with our j.w.
bible study daughter.
she won't be coming over for the annual meal(s) on thanksgiving, christmas, easter, and whatever else she can think of that are holidays.
Another good question to ask- Do the JWs believe that Jehovah has preserved the Bible all these years? If so, then why didn't He make sure that His name remained in the New Testament? Why did the JWs have to insert it back in? The claim to have restored it, when in fact, it was never in the New Testament to begin with. You're doing a good job. Stay calm, and continue to ask questions and make her think. And by the way- welcome to the forum!

I knew about the many misquotes in the Trinity booklet, I had no idea about the Creation book. The depths to which they sink never cease to amaze me. Thanks again to everyone who replied.
