  i know that jws view df'd ones as the walking dead, but how do they view non-jws?

  i thought that they considered them walking dead, too, but my mom says no.

  has there been any "new light" recently about how to treat disfellowshipped family members?

  my cousin got dfd a few months ago.

  i noticed that she had been spending quite a lot of time at my aunt's (her mother, an active jw) home.

  Great garage sale find

  i was at a garage sale with my jw aunt and 2-year-old son.

  he was happily entertaining himself with some of the toys for sale, when he picked up a (gasp) santa claus pinata and put it in his wagon!

  Watchtower and Awake in the waiting room

  i found a couple of nice wt and awake magazines in the waiting room at work today.

  i decided to dress them up with some flourescent green labels with the freeminds.org, silentlambs.org, and quotes' website.

  hope the jw who left them will come back and check them out .

  my teenage cousin got dfd about a month ago.

  it's tearing her mother apart.

  i guess right after the announcement was read, one of the "friends" told her "it's kind of like a death in the family, isn't it.

  JWs and charitable work

  i've read on here several times about how jws are discouraged for doing charitable work for anybody other than jws, and that they are discouraged from contributing financially to non-jw charities.

  are there some references to this in their literature that someone could point me to?.

  also, i had a discussion with a jw about a recent relief effort some jws did in florida.

  does it just mean they don't go door to door, or does it mean they've stopped attending meetings too?

  i've been "studying" with a nice jw lady, we've been discussing the "what god requires" booklet.

  we were reading about how very soon, jesus was going to start separating the sheep from the goats.

  i jumped right on that, asking, "so this is a future event, right?

  DFd/DAd persons and "apostate" literature

  can anyone tell me if associating with dfd/dad people or reading "apostate" literature is a disfellowshipping offense?

  is it one of those unwritten rules, or is there something written about it in the wt?
