July Broadcast Denies That JW Children Die Rather Than Have Medical Care
by BluesBrother inanthony morris 3rd delivered the broadcast this month and advised that lies are circulated that they let children die rather than have medical care .
he says this is so inaccurate as to be a boldfaced lie ...... further he says it is "up to the parents to determine what would be the best treatment for their children" .
now, does this mean that parents are really free to make a decision to accept blood for their minor child, if they so choose?

Not only do they die from refusing medical care, they've published magazines bragging about the number of children they've killed via the blood ban. -

Do JW's use the bible to preach anymore?

They're just there to get easy time. There are some JWs that will take everything back to some scripture, and there are others that are just out to get the time while trying to avoid uncomfortable situations as much as possible. If it had been me, it would've gone much the same way whether it had been a year ago or 10. -

Are we going to see a mass awakening?
by kairos inthe internet is the archive for civilization.. watchtower cannot hide it's history.. are we seeing the beginning of a mass exodus out of her?.

We need to use "thinking ability" and "discernment" to identify "the man speaking perverse things" and those "whose entire course is devious."
Finally! Something from the WTS that I can agree with wholeheartedly!

Anthony Morris III goes on an eight minute rant over child abuse
by Richard_I inthis is in the july 2015 monthly program on tv.jw.org cedars wrote about it too.. starting at around 42:30 in the video, morris talks about the child abuse situation for almost 10 minutes.
link to video.
i'm writing a transcript right now.

The child abuse comments start at 42 min. and that is where the lying and bullshitting starts.
I'm not going to watch the video, but I just can't fathom that they got 42 minutes in without lying or bullshitting.
They keep talking about child abuse, but every time they talk about it, I contend that they've only made the problem worse by creating a false sense of security. They claim that they do not have a pedophile problem and any reports otherwise are "apostate driven lies." Then They claim that they do everything they can to prevent it. Then they talk about how molesters are homosexuals or target kids online - making the average JW look outside the cult for any threats.
All this is only going to increase the blind spot that JWs have for the pedophiles among them and if there's any result out of this it's going to be that more kids get abused.

No education. Not just to avoid critical thinking
by StarTrekAngel ini was listening to my brother in law talk about his job this week.
he had a stable job for a long time.
it was not without problems but it was there.

Really I can honestly say my analytical approach to this being a complete dangerous cult had zero to do with college. College doesn't make critical thinkers, but it does work well for them.
I think the constant encouragement to apply critical thinking skills in college can subtly help wake up a JW. I agree that if someone's going to learn critical thinking, they're probably going to have it worked out before college, but when you're in an environment full of people questioning things, it can drive you to apply it elsewhere. I'm sure it had some degree of an impact on me - when I was in college was when I essentially became an atheist struggling to remain religious due to the phobia indoctrination.
I hadn't thought about the idea that keeping people from getting good jobs makes them less likely to find good association outside the cult, but that makes perfect sense. I've seen it in my wife too - when she worked it was always around uneducated people and most of them were lazy and directionless and it's easy to get the idea that "this is just how worldly people are."
Another element of college (especially when living on campus) that plays a huge factor is that it takes one out of the parentally-controlled routine. That routine supports the cult and makes it easier to stay indoctrinated, and challenging it can give someone the breathing room they need to wake up. The exposure to a diverse group of people from different backgrounds, often with pressure to be accepting of people's differences, also can make someone realize that there are good people out there that have valid reasons for not being a cultist and you know will never join up - makes you question the cult doctrine about non-JWs dying at armageddon.

Couldn't make myself watch the cartoon - but I'm guessing that they used it to instill the phobia of worldy people?
I love how he can take literally any topic and somehow turn it homophobic. As if a man molesting a male child has anything remotely to do with homosexuality. Bigot.
As usual, it's just a lot of talk with nothing to back it up.

RC musings - my impressions
by Doubting Bro inso i went to the rc this past weekend and have a few observations:.
1 - use of videos - most parts had some sort of video prop.
they ranged from awkward (an example was on friday where they showed scenes of nature without a real purpose other than god made this) to very well done.

Number of baptisms is quite low. I'm interested to see how that goes this year - I'm predicting a pretty big drop off after last year between the disappointment of 2014 coming and going and I suspect we'll be correcting for a slight increase in baptisms from the international conventions last year. I'm sure there are many that would've otherwise waited to get baptized but only did it because it was such a big event. -

Governing Body TV
by punkofnice inso, the holy, holy, holy governing body(tm) are on tv and very much to be worshipped (like rock stars).. do you think there will come a time when the jws won't have public talks (as an example), and rely totally on the tele evengelism from the gb?
i say this because a public speaker used to be offered travelling expenses when visiting a different kingdom hell.
either the popes will stop this, it already has been stopped.
-
OneEyedJoe
It's widely expected both on here and by jws I've heard discuss it that it's only a matter of time before one public talk a month will be agb member on TV. -

Manicheism of the WTBTS
by coalize ini think one of the more evil trick of the wtbts is their manicheism!.
on a large bunch of subjects, they wants the fellow followers to believe that in a given situation, it is only possible to take two choice, of course, diametrically opposite.
and of course, you have the good choice and the bad choice.. of course, nothing is more wrong than that!

It's commonly called black-and-white thinking and is a facet of every cult. Either you're with us or you're against us.
