Singapore: The Religious consequences of Tim Cook coming out as gay
by fulltimestudent inas if we needed any further evidence that the minds of christians are not all that they should be, the shenagins in the christian segment of the christian segment of the singapore population once again demonstrated that each time they fart, they blow some of their brains away, and sadly they fart so much that there's not much brain left.. i guess most people have heard that time cook (boss of apple) publically stated this week that he was gay and proud of it.
in most of the western world, it barely caused a ripple, but not so in singapore where christians are always lobbying the government against sin.. but, tim cook as a gay man provoked the ire of the singaporean church leadership.. i have not heard that anyone claimed that using an apple iphone would make you gay, but prominent church leader lawrence khong, was commissioned as an apostle by dr. peter wagner, of the international coalition of apostles, in 2000. .
on hearing the news about tim cook, lawrence khong stop using iphone and even denounced technology altogether.

Has anyone actually read the study wt for sun nov 2nd????!!!
by stuckinarut2 ino m g...(yes that is a very childish reaction...but i couldn't think of a more appropriate expression!).
if you haven't yet read it...please do so..... it is so ridiculous!
so leading, so distorted, and full of "bait and switch" techniques.. "prove you have the truth"..by seeing how neutral witnesses were in war times?

Awake January 2015: How did life begin? - More misquotes
by Designer Stubble in
some might assume that a scientifically-minded person would pick evolution and that a religious person would pick creation.
but not always.. rama singh, professor of biology at canadas mcmaster university, says: the opposition to evolution goes beyond religious fundamentalism and includes a great many people from educated sections of the population.
.
end-of-quote in awake.

Interesting. I hope to read his response. I will be furious if anyone misquote my writing to further their hidden agenda.

My experience locally. Just sharing.
Our cong is small about 80 pax, split into 2 groups. Used to meet in bigger groups but to reduce travelling time and to reduce group size we held meetings usually in houses.
We all stay nearby and meeting is a breeze for most. Say about 15-30 mins travelling time.
Those who stay nearby can be as short as 5 mins. Many stay back back after meeting to chat n associate. It's nice n cozy. Distance about 0.5-1km away.
Then CO commented need to increase group size to be more encouraging. Have more comments n participation. We mobe to a far away location for meeting. Travelling time about 45mins for a distance of 5 km away from most homes. Thanks CO. That's not all. Now we travel 12 km away to used a hall shared n funded by 4-5 congregations, rented and not own. It's out of our territory n travel is a chore And tiresome. Before every change, there's always a pep talk on the benefits for such change in meeting arrangement. No one dare to complain or oppose. It's just simple a bad idea and I offered to find a near by location within our territory to cut travel time. Elder had no choice. Now I see many who are so tired after meeting ( some are dozing off at meetings due to the repetitive talks) and they can't wait to leave once the song is over. Not to mention the share of contribution to the rental, cleaning, time and transport .......poor JWs. Skinned and thrown about like sheep Without shepherd.

I'm out- Random thoughts on leaving as I look in the rear view mirror
by Skinnedsheep init is amazing to look back at three years and see the journey that we have taken.
i went from being an elder to fading completely in the course of those three years.
along the way i am happy to say that my lovely wife woke up and realized that the truth is nothing but a lie.

What Happened to the Religion I Left in 1995?
by JoshJeffries injosh here, new to the board.
glad to know this site is here.. i would not be writing this if it were not 2014. i was a ministerial servant and regular pioneer who left the jehovahs witnesses back in 1995/96, around that time.
i left suddenly, didnt fade away, just left when something clicked one day in my head during the morning shower and made me realize this religion wasnt true.

Copy of my DA Letter
by airborne inthis is my first time posting here, although i have been a visitor to it for around a year.
after doing a simple google search under "jehovah'switnesses" over a year ago, i found ttat.
i was deeply unhappy with the congregation and decided to educate myself, and boy what an education i have gotten so far.

Great. Those scriptures prick my conscience n I DA too in February. I no longer can be loyal to a man made organization. Christ words keep ringing in my ears n my conscience was pricked. Great to be set free!

Ripple Effect
by Yondaime inon tuesday i was dragged out on service with my mom since shes a permanent pioneer, and once we arrived at the hall i realized there were no brothers, but an abundance of sisters.
i conducted the service meeting with ease, since my dad gave me a formation on how to do it.. then on thursday at my meeting nearly half of the congregation surrounded me and gave me hugs and kisses.
i know about love bombing, its happened to me before, but this was the most insane amount of it ever since i had a demonstration at the district convention.

The.Change is immediate. When we fade within a month all yr normal friends will steer clear of you as you not regular thereby not good associate. Once we DA. Strictly all drop us as friends on Facebook n nil SMS, talk n phone call. Jw Friendship is conditional built On WT membership. First Mth is lonely. You are left with yr family relatives God and Christ. We made many new frriends since n we know some of these will be friends for life w unconditional love. Life has been awesome since we left. We grew to accept people for what they are and less judgemental. This is a beautiful world with many many lovely people.

Scripture supports the decrease in growth rate and the dumbing down of WT message
by never a jw ini couldn't stay away from jwn, nor could i stay away from my favorite elder.. my email to my favorite elder:.
since the wt org.
is tightening its grip on the membership at the same time it is running the organization like a business (flipping real estate, downsizing and promoting a brand name, an idol and a flag such as jw.org), i feel that membership numbers are going to be affected; my bet is downward.

Once I hinted that the magazines had dropped from 32 pages to 16. His response is. It is good, easier for householder to read as they are always busy. Also it be lighter to carry around. their response are generally superficial and can't see beyond the obvious. Once we are blind and now we can see the manipulation n dumbing down of the congregation.
