My parents, (78 & 75) are still active. My dad an E and my mom an auxlilary pioneer when she can. Both are pretty computer litterate and are doing pretty good especially with their iPads and iPhones. One of my family members is a wizard with tech stuff and has been able to keep them abreast of all the changes. I don't think this will slow them down at all but I do see it affecting most older ones alot.

Are Jdubs going to put the elderly out to pasture with JW.org?
by Coffee House Girl init will be interesting to see how things play out...but one example which got me to thinking about this is my mother.
my mom is a 76 year old regular pioneer (she is one of those who believes that you are "nothing" if you are not a pioneer...the position is everything)-.
i am moving in two weeks to go to grad school, so i have been trying to go out to visit...say goodbye...do things for her before i leave.

"JW.morg"
Hilarious but true.

Delete Personal Messages
by Maranatha ini've never been on a website that doesn't allow you to delete your own personal messages.
why can we not do that on this site?
what are your motives in keeping our personal messages?

This is a great site just the way it is. Much help is here even though some of it my be a bit caustic. For the most part it is good for you. I have felt the full range of emotions from reading post here but isn't that the point? To help shed the MC and learn to think for ourselves? Kudos to whoever owns and maintains this site and if you make a few bucks in the process, more power to you!

Governing Body Will Get to Kill Worldly People at Armageddon! Gods Kingdom Rules Quote
by lostnotfound inso scanning through the gods kingdom rules i found this gem on page 228.. .
"in heaven, the 144,000 corulers with christ will recieve authority to share with jesus in weilding an "iron rod" of destruction against all enemies of gods kingdom.
( rev 2 26,27) then, together with powerful angels, the resurrected anointed ones will follow christ, the warrior king, as he sets out to confront the "vast army" of enemies that is closing in on its prey - jehovahs people.".

Is this a new "This Generation" or not?
by Doug Mason infirst of all i want to express my sincere gratitude to atlantis and his good friends for making this 2014 book available.. ------------.
as i see it, and i am absolutely open to contradiction, the wts appears to be giving another new meaning to this generation.
this time the term means all of his anointed followers, including his immediate disciples.

The "generation" that died wandering in the wilderness for 40 years was without "overlapping" needs also.

If you had the audience of the GB, what is your #1 question you would ask them?
by Darth Fader The Sequel inthere are a million of them and mine is by no means the most important question to ask them if i only had one shot at it.
but, i have always wondered what kind of bs excuse they would give as an answer to this question: "brother goober bum, given that there are both male and female partakers here on earth who claim to be of the 'anointed' and plan on being of the 144,000 ruling with christ in heaven for eternity........ why are the female 'anointed' treated as submissive, second class citizens and why is their opinion on doctrinal matters, matters of teaching and reproving, anything at all.... why are they not recognized while here on earth even though you claim that jesus has selected them to become angels to rule with him?

Have you been to an apostate website recently? Excluding JW.org of course.

Convention Hotel "list"- Free rooms for JW/WT "dignitaries"?
by Darth Fader The Sequel inin all my years of being a jw, one of the more annoying aspects to me was each year sitting through the service meeting review part about what was expected (see: demanded) behavior and policies that the rest of us rank and file were ordered to comply with to attend a district convention.
the minutia in this part and the over-reaching set of rules were enough to drive me into a lather of rage at the audacity of these people thinking they could and should control every single aspect of my attendance to this "free" and voluntary convention.
from what clothing i can wear on my trip to and from the convention city, to what clothing i can wear before and after each day of the convention, to what i should be doing after each day instead of eating dinner and enjoying some good times with good friends, to insisting on wearing a ridiculous name badge, to what i should eat for lunch and where i should eat lunch and what is the appropriate container to keep my lunch in, to .................. the list is endless!!!!!!!!

I can't remember where I read it but I remember the ratio was 1 free room for every 8 booked. That seem a little high to me but anything is possible. But I am sure that the WBT$ keeps this information "confidential" from the RF and would even give evasive answers if directly asked. After all the RF have no right to know... Theocratic Warfare... right?

Giving "Jehovahs spirit" credit for mundane, everyday things!
by BU2B ini am hearing this more and more and it is like nails on a chalkboard.
i hear it from the wt, from elders, from my parents and from jws in general.
this had to be jehovahs spirit!

We had a bro in our cong once that served in WW2 under Gen Patton. He did 3 tours (that is what he said) in the European theater. Most in his company died but of course he survived. He was realistic but crude and many avoided him. One time in service he was telling one of his "close call" stories when a sister interrupted him and said "the holy spirit saved you because J knew you were going to be a JW later." "BS!" he said, " I survived because I refused to march behind our tanks as commanded... everybody was shooting at those tanks!" I spit my coffee on the dash laughing so hard.

Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!
by BU2B ini just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.
also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.
i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

My wife is still in but has her doubts. We both were very involved when raising our kids. Not so much now. My wife would have no problem if I quit.... did that years ago right after we were married and she survived for 10yrs going without me. I was re-activated after 30 and then our family came along. She was a Regular Pioneer for over a decade while raising kids and holding down part-time work. I served as an E during this time.
A lot of sh*t started hitting the fan when our kids were in there teens. Our kids were fine but they along with us started seeing the hypocrisy and double standards practiced in the cong with other families in the lead. When standing up for what was "right" then the ostracism started. It is a long story but it just boiled down to personalities, nepotism and a bunch of drama queens. This resulted in one of our kids being disfellowshiped after seeking friends outside the KH.
Neither of us our very strong now, (me especially) due to health reasons on my wife's part and my cooling off. We have a very large family still "in" and for this reason I am proceeding cautiously. I wish to spend the rest of my days with my wife and don't want to see her stressed any more than necessary. She has never tried to force me to do anything I didn't want to and we are very open with each other. She does not trust Elders and has some doubts about JW doctrine but when it comes to Jehovah/Jesus/Bible she is as loyal as can be. We are both headed in the same direction I am just a little more advanced than her. I just want her to make up her own mind without feeling any pressure from me.
The biggest thing I see in all this is letting your children get baptized. If I had it to do over again and they insisted, I would tell them that they cannot get baptized until they are out on their own. At least then they might have a more balanced view of what they might be getting into.
(the "never grow old in this system" class)... lol for focus
