No longer qualifies to share in the ministry?
by StephaneLaliberte ini heard that co's were provided with a talk outline in which people who dress and act too "gay" could eventually "no longer qualify to share in the ministry", should they not change the way they look!.
has anyone else ever heard of any other reason for which someone would be disqualified from the ministry?.

We had a couple who were DF'ed over 2 years and not only continued their FM but also brought their studies to the meetings, reported time also. We were told by the CO that we could take away their privileges and shun them but we could not interfere with their FS since that was their obligation before J especially if they were seeking reinstatement. -

Where does the Society stand on Uniformitarianism?
by marmot inmy dad doesn't like the fact that i've come to accept the theory of evolution.
he always accuses me of unquestioningly "buying into" what scientists say and says i don't apply critical thinking to the problem.
so now i've decided to tackle his claim at the roots.

If the physics of the earth was completely different before the flood then we have 400k of ice core data that was built up in the last 4k years since supposedly it didn't exist before the flood. That is one hell of an ice age... ?

Are you "trained" to be loyal?
by DATA-DOG ini went for the kh today for personal reasons.
it was pretty dumb, but not horrible.
anyway the speaker used a terrible, but accurate illustration in his gb approved outline.

Most use "understanding."
I hate that word because of it's use in the legal arena.

For me the worst thing is not having a helper anymore
by John Aquila inone of the things that gave me confidence in life was that i believed i had the almighty creator/god watching over me, directing me, guiding my every step, protecting me from harm, and answering my prayers.
i now know that is not the case anymore.
i finally stopped praying.

That is exactly how I feel. And it was really driven home for me when the Philippine cong was washed out to sea with the pubs in it. You know they were praying and in the kh to boot. -

Inspiration, inscripturation
by Doug Mason inthe apostle paul stated at 2 timothy 3:16: all scripture is inspired of god.
the phrase inspired of god translates the compound greek word theopneustos, meaning, literally, god-breathed or breathed by god.
this is the only occurrence of this greek term in the scriptures.

Just keeping things simple... when Paul wrote those words to Timothy it was a "letter" not scripture. He would have then been referring to the scrolls of the Old Testament as inspired. His letter was not considered as part of the bible cannon until the 4th century. I cracks me up when the scripture (2Tim 3:16) is read to prove the whole Bible, including Paul's letters, is inspired. Circular reasoning at its finest. -

Royal Commission National Redress Scheme. Average of $65,000 per victim, not including psychological fees and admin costs.
by Lemonp inthe royal commission published it's redress report today.
it is a 668 page document, but it is very interesting.
all the recommendations they make are in harmony with what all other institutions will accept.

bottom line on new generation thinking -very simple
by nowwhat? inwhen they came up with the overlapping generations new lite, they must have received alot of "where's the scriptural precedent?!
so they came up with the account of joseph and his brothers to shut them up.
still they are trying to make a round peg fit in a square hole to fit 1914 in the equation.

For decades they taught that the heavenly calling ended in 1935, baptized after that you were earthly. It was inconvenient to have someone baptized after that start partaking and they were discounted as possibly a bit off mentally. When the numbers started rising it was at first attributed to better reporting in countries that were under band or being opened up. But now they have figured out how to use those increasing numbers to breath new life into the 1914 con... how convenient.
