Why people don't believe in God
by pressman indo you want to know why i think people don't believe in god?
well i believe people don't want to believe in god because they are scared.
they know that if they finally do gorge the confidence to believe in him, he might discipline them for their skepticism.

If God exists it is clearly obvious that He, in general, is not worried about our individual lives. For instance, if a crazy guy (as a german one did some weeks ago) controlling an airbus decides to crash it, God will not do anything to save the mortal bodies of the people therein.
Also, if God exists, He has never talked to one of us so as to tell us His actual plans. The books claiming to be God's words are all a hoax.
Accordingly, the empirical facts tell us that it does not matter if God exists, because all will die once. If we have an spiritual life after dying, we don't know. All the theologies about it, are speculations.

I had to get the Ph.D. degree (we call it here in Brazil "doutorado", or in English "doctorate degree). Because in Physics you can't get a good position without the doctorate degree here in Brazil. Also, when you get the doctorate degree, you are beginning your career of researcher. For instance, I have to publish annually a minimum number of papers in journals of certain reputation (of a minimum impact factor) so as to maintain my status. Otherwise I would not get financial support for my projects in the university, and the respective economical bonus. Therefore, my doctorate degree was my first step to be someone in the competitive world of the brazilian physicists. Of course, I know that in US and UK the competition is considerably harder, as in Germany. I had a postdoctoral position with two german physicists with a good number of papers published in Physical Review Letters (which is one of the best journals in Physics). However, they could not get a permanent position in their own country due to the hard competition. -

I believe that Jesus existed as the leader of a jewish sect. I think that he did not write any manuscript with his doctrines, because he thought it was not necessary. He thought that the kingdom would be established soon, during his generation. Nevertheless, he was comdemned and executed for something that offended the political leaders of Jerusalem, then all his plans failed. The Gospels were written by no eyewitness, and this is why we can't trust in them.....In other words, Jesus is not responsible for the lies written in the NT. -

Many christians who have a Ph.D. in theology use this degree to propagate lies with a scholarly language. Nothing more. -

The coin says "KAICAPOC", which means "of Caesar". So, this seems to mean that it belongs to a territory that was recently annexed to Rome ?. Judaea may be, of course. And what is clear is that it belongs to the year 6 AD, because it appears the number 36 in greek letters, which is the number of years after the battle of Actium. Ok, but how do I know that it belongs to Judaea?, due to the palm tree?....any thoughts?

The fact is that the Watchtower leaders need always to impose a scandalous doctrine. And as Gruss said , the blood ban was intended to convince the membership they were being "persecuted" and "suffering for righteousness sake," a sure sign they were "in the truth." -

Atheism
by Jonathan Drake inrecent events and book reads (one suggested by cofty i believe- thank you) have lead me to the only logical and acceptable conclusion:.
there is no god.. simple logical reasoning: matter can neither me created or destroyed.
so the amount of mass in the universe is constant.

I don't know if Marvin remembers our last discussion in Channel C (now offline). In our last discussion I still believed that the story of Adam and Eve was true history. Marvin wrote me that some OT passages can't be taken literally because they would lead us to absurdities. And yes, I admit now that Marvin was right. Currently I no longer believe in those OT myths, however I still believe that if you don't believe in those stories in the same way as the NT writers did, you have to admit that no holy spirit was inspiring them. So, the god of the NT is as false as that of OT. -

When you realize that even liberal christians try to hide the sun with a finger
by opusdei1972 insome christians currently admit that many of accounts of the first books of the bible do not tell true histories.
however, to save the value of the bible they argue that these stories have to be understood as allegories.
of course, they try to distract us by saying we should concentrate us in the new testament.

Some christians currently admit that many of accounts of the first books of the Bible do not tell true histories. However, to save the value of the Bible they argue that these stories have to be understood as allegories. Of course, they try to distract us by saying we should concentrate us in the New Testament. However, this is not what the NT teaches. Let us read some examples:
…13For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. 14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. (1 Timothy 2:13-14)If Paul did not write the above words, it was one of his disciples. Whatever, the pauline school (under the holy spirit) thought that Adam and Eve existed as told by the book of Genesis. However, scientific facts have proven that well before Adam and Eve there were already men and women. It is clear that the pauline school was misled by the holy spirit, because they believed in a tale.
Let's read another one of the pauline circle:
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days. (Hebrews 11:30)
The archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon, without any holy spirit, discovered that Jericho was destroyed one century before Joshua (according to the Bible) went to that city. So, we can see that the author of this letter believed in that false history.
Accordingly, the following are the most deceiving words ever uttered (by the false author of the fourth Gospel):
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.(John 16:13) -

Modern Jews have a simpler solution, they use common sense :
Dorff, Conservative Judaism’s leading expert on medical ethics and chairman of the Rabbinical Assembly’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards (CJLS), says that under halachah, or Jewish law, the case would be open-and-shut.
First, halachah does not consider a blood transfusion to be at all akin to the forbidden act of eating blood. Secondly, even eating blood would be permitted under Jewish law to save a life.
