I agree with joe134cd and cofty - WTS growth is pretty much non-existent in western countries, and education is the antidote to extremist beliefs.

jesus says: if the flesh came into existence because of the spirit, it is a marvel.

If the “scientific” Evolution Theory is true - maybe the word 'true' should be abandoned - 'correct' is better. Why have you put the word scientific in inverted commas? - evolution has lots of evidence, can be scientifically investigated, etc.

How many of us treat the Black as equal to the rest of the humanity? I do. Black people have the same rights and responsibilities as white people

On one side, we have virtually all Industries using woman’s nudity to market their products - what's so bad about this? Some women have attractive faces and bodies - so what?

like kids everywhere these children of migrant workers in dongguan (near shenzhen) like to play.

when farm workers leave their villages to work in the huge chinese construction/factory industries they are faced with a decision - leave their kids with relatives (usually grand-parents) in the village or take them with them, to face the uncertainties of city life.. this photograph was taken by zhan youbing, a 41 year old photographer, who for the past nine years has focused his camera on the lives of migrant workers.

I guess when JWs go to bethel they see the men behind the curtain.

Although I suppose there are some who are genuinely happy at bethel, I can't help thinking that this video masks a lot of unhappiness and disappointment.

I think the kid in the video seems about 12 or 13. As other posters have said, it'll influence young children (8 to 10) to start working towards baptism (handing the rest of their lives over to a corporation).

It's good to remember that, according to the bible, Jesus got baptised at about 30 years old.

Mormon 'support' for gays, pressure on the WTS?

the mormon / lds church has noticably changed it's stance toward homosexuality and instead of condemning it seems to be supporting protection for people's rights (of course they want to throw some protection for themselves in there as well).. how will this affect the wts?

the lds is the more-successful counterpart to the wts, similar age and history and same non-mainstream appeal.. i have no doubt that the lds church is only changing because they know which way the wind is blowing and society has completely changes it's attitudes towards gay people.

maybe they just want to stay ahead pf the curve before federal legislation enforces people's rights.. now, can we see the wts changing their views" will they be one of the last holdouts?

I'm afraid I agree with Finkelstein and Smiddy - the WTS will possibly even point to the LDS and say that they're becoming 'worldly', aren't maintaining God's standards, etc.

I believe that in a tiny way, the WTS are perhaps softer on gay people than they were. Sort of 'hate the sin, love the sinner'.

The WTS can go strict or liberal on a range of issues, IMO, such as alcohol, dress, grooming, but they have always been strict on sexual matters. I can't see this changing.

Remember, there's a world out there that they must keep separate from
