The JW "New World" would be like North Korea with babbling brooks and piles of fruit and the same old meetings and magazines and judicial committees and lists of rules and elders to enforce them. It would be like one big prison camp your were held captive in for a thousand years.

What gets me aboout this video is even after the instructor is shot in the head the big macho owner of this range is still confident his policy of giving an uzi to 9 yearold was just fine and explains they give guns to five year olds. Its the power of delusion. It always amazes me. I saw a news report of a Pit Bull, family pet, who killed its owner's wife and unborn child and the husband, stating it was not the dog or the breed even though 282 people in the last eight years have been killed by Pit Bulls mostly their owners and owner's children in their homes by pet Pit Bulls who were treated like family. Delusion, these Pit Bull advocates will still insist they are harmless.

the insanity of Sam herds talks at the convention
by purrpurr ini've picked up two that stood out to me but i'm sure others will have noticed more:.
he gave an illustration about fearing god and he said it is like a wife who has spent all day preparing the evening meal for her husband and she hears him come home and perhaps she is trembling a bit out of fear that he might not like the meal she has cooked for him....!!!!!!!!????.
the other was about verbal abuse and how it should not be used but rather than site the effect it has or the forms it can take he said that we shouldn't call each other " dumb dumb" or "knuckle head" .

Konceptual - If Herd was accepted as "humble" after this kind of speech, it speaks more to the deep rooted sexism in this organization. The people at this assembly, remember, believe him to be under "special guidance" and a special "set apart Pope like person" who channels God himself. Its a Cult. These people are acting like Cult members, if he told them to go home and kill their first born they would happily do it.

Take a university course in History, Go to the NASA Hubble site, knowledge knowledge knowledge, its all over the place. There are No "secrets" just unexplained things we don't know yet , like 97% of whats in the universe. In one year you couldn't absorb in your tiny brain absolutely everything and even if you were able to understand, through a IQ unheard of, then what ? You would know stuff you think nobody eles does ? Isn't that exactly like being a JW ? They already think they know everything and no one else does. Is that your ultimate goal ? To be a world champ know-it-all ?
What about love ? As the song goes. What about friends and music and dance and money to eat in good restaurants and travel first class and see the world and enjoy yourself ? #2 sounds boring as hell and completely futile.

As for the original post on this thread - It is interesting, but I am too much of a skeptic to even imagine that kind of sincere heart felt soul searching from those seven little popes. Ray Franz was a rare man, there has not been another like him in 30 years. And he was instantly demonized and hatefully dealt with. It has been 20 years since I read Crisis of Conscience, but I seem to remember it was the same issue of shutting people out of the body of Christ that finally drove Franz to his crisis ?

My summer camp job experience
by d inthis summer i met a russian women i worked at a summer camp for people with developmental disabilities and she is going back to russia in september.
i grew to really like her as a person.
i just feel empty that she is now gone to new york heading beck to moscow we hung out on three seperate occasions and i enjoyed myself and her company .

Millie210 - The air of superiority is the core of being a Jehovah's Witness don't you think ? JW's believe they have all the answers. Their whole existence is based on the idea of "us" and "them". JW's have the idea the common rubble of humanity around them simple do not have the "special knowledge" they have. There is no special knowledge in reality, everything knowable can be known. Even those who leave the WT and see behind the curtain and the immense fraud and arrogance of the "organization" often retain, desperately in fact, the need to be "right" to "have all the answers". To correct other's thinking. Its a fear of uncertainty perhaps. The need for an anchor.
It is difficult to accept that they are just as lost now as they were as a JW and just as likely to be wrong. People cling to dogma of all kinds including science, to feel safe. The Buddhists would call this, attachment. Some would say enlightenment and creativity are beyond attachment and as a great artist said, "Art is a serious of destructions." It may be, that life is a serious of destructions, for those with the courage to be free.
