i literally just sat there with my mouth open.

sometimes the delusional mind of jws takes steroids.. it was during the draw close to jehovah study where they praise the mosaic law and how perfectly wonderful it was.

you should have seen the almost giddy attitude the conductor had and the comments from the audience.

you know, you got to wonder whos writting this stuff ans what they hope to accomplish by it. surely they know there are many who find it absolutely bazzar.

so last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.

she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.

what do i do?!!!!!.

call me dense, but, are you a teen still living at home ? Im not sure why your mom said this to you if your an adult.

but still, does your mother have authority over you at this time? why oh why does she not have the inteligence and maturity to discuss this with her own child? has she given up her RIGHT to parent? she cant deal with this on her own?

does she understand that the elders are not there to be treated like the some secret service agents and shes thier informant? they are only there for spiritual help, not everyday nonsense. just dont go to the meeting, be busy or sick.

id not go to the meeting ever again. Id tell her thats the last straw, If my own mother rejects me critisizes me and belittles me and judges me, how does she think

God feels about her choice to treat her child like some criminal? that a sure sign of cult like behavior. shes lost her own mind.

why did she not simply ask you to explain?

my mother has already told me that I need to talk to the elders about my questions.

I said to her "mother, you are older than they are, so why cant you answer them? how many years have you been studying the bible and you cant tell me what YOU think it means?"

she changed the subject.

how many people on here who were or are jws, owned or ran a buisness who would not willingly let people at the k hall know, maybe to avoid feeling like you had to give your fellow brothers and sisters a discount, or free help, or out of fear of being judged.

did you only help out the pioneers?

and not the poor ones?

so, no matter what religion you claim to be, these problems remain. lol. being unaware of anything going on in any congregation I attended, Id have never guessed that people would take advantage of someone else. thats how nieve i was, i always held everyone in such high esteeme.

its amazing all those jws living a double life, lol! i for one never asked even so much for a ride. so im good.

for example, if someone was a hair stylist, in the cong i left, shed never ever consider offering the poor sisters or brothers in the hall a free or discounted, haircut. and some of them really needed a haircut. or would you cut a pioneers hair?

or a brother who owns a car lot wouldnt help one of the poor ones find a real cheap car ,

or someone who i know was a mechanic yet always expected to be paid , so the poor ones never asked even for so much for a tire to be changed.

where was all the help that we were supposed to be doing for each other. i was a housecleaner, and id get asked or id offer, to clean elderly sister or ill sister or brother so n so's house becasue of illness or something, and i never got paid nor did i expect to. but i find out later who owned what and I d think geeze, the ones I knew who could have been helped and wasnt!

an elder once said from the platform

It is a sin to miss a meeting.

and at a convention once a district overseer was giving some experiences where some brothers and sisters were hiding others from getting arrested and he made this comment.

'its ok to lie to protect your brothers and sisters.'

and i just thought,,, omg, so why then did not ALL those others brothers and sisters not lie to protect themselves from getting killed in other wars or ethnic cleansings?

I never forgot that, and from that day on I knew this wasnt a true religion.

probably, but Ill never know how much. Im not terribly depressed about it, we cant change the past. were misfits I guess.

my life right now is as boring and pointless as it ever was. all that has changed for me is personal knowlege.

I think my 2 adult kids are happier though.

it depends on how easy you can make freinds, if you can get out or have a job , to make freinds, and IF you used to have freinds before you were a jw, and can get back with them.

I have none so too bad for me.

apparently no one has time for freindships. it make me mad all the times I went out of my way for people and got nothing more than a verbal thanks. never a freindship developed. what the ?

as for me, being raised in it, with some of my family still in it, its always in my face. my parents are getting older so i have to deal with that crap of age realted problems. I f I want to be rotten, and not want to help them, i can make my positon known to the elders. then my mom would not talk to me. or would she??? hmmm

i have to avoid any conver sations about religion with my mother. shes convinced that Ive read apostate material and watch videos.

yea like 10 years ago i knew this was a bunch of crap. never needed anything other than a bible to prove it wrong.

its much easier obviously for younger ones t oget out, we older ones who are or were married and have kids, we have not a chance to live over our live, were in the time of our life where our parents are getting old and were starting to have our own health issues to deal with, so we feel cheated. we go from taking care of kids to taking care of parents. its not fair. never any time to do what we want and find our own talents and do any personal enrichment. not enough time to start over .

im angry only now because after getting out of the wt guilt grip, as of only last year, I cant get on with my life becasue I am housebound due to something seriously with my foot. [plantar facaitis turned nerve damage. mri tomorow]

so i cant work a job. Im so sick of sitting here in pain not being able to live life.

If I was able to work a job, id be on my own and out of here , probably move someplace different.

when my husband and i were seperated 2 yrs ago, and i had my own apartment i was still sort of going to the k hal. so i was looking for a jw single man, and there wasnt any. a few months later my husband begged me to come back to him.

so being a 'good christain', i forgave my husband , but nothing did change anyway, so, Im still in a marraige that sucks.

but only for the money and insurence. we havent slept together in over a year. its lonely sleeping alone when your only 52.

when i moved back with my husband and went to the k hall, not one elder approached me the whole year i was there, and asked my how i was doing, or where my publisher record was. till this day none of them spoke to me. so i faded away, and no one misses me.

Cable vs the Antenae tower

i kind of wanted to know if some have made this transition from escaping the satellite/cable monopoly to the large antenaes that require no monthly bills.

does it work?

is there a good quality such as hi def?

i have an antenna, we get abc nbs cbs fox and pbs and netflx. who needs anything else? cable is so full of garbage boring repetitive shows anymore.

but even netflix is running out of good stuff.

One Day Assembly Costs How Much, WTF?

the recent circuit assembly day cost get this... $17,0000 in an assembly hall that they own!

this was announced during the assmbly at the 3/4 mark of days activities.

after he said how much the assembly cost, he then proceeded to say that we have recieved $6,000 in donations up to this point of the day.

is there someone who works for the electric company that can get the usage for the month? Id love to know.

I never could figure out how it cost so much money to sit in a building for 6 hours? with florecent lights air conditioning or heat, water bill, and no mortgage.
