Ever try to contact local "inactive publishers"?
by Sail Away ini'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried to contact inactive or disfellowshipped jws in their area.
there are many faders in our area.
there is also a large born-in family that had many leave who were labeled as apostates.

I've connected with many in and outside my area.
Went to the Tahoe gathering this past Summer.
It nice to talk things through with people that "get it".

what would happen If?
by sowhatnow ini submitted a letter to the local k hall, explaining that i no longer believe my baptism as a jw is valid, based on my current bible knowlege.
and i wish to be no longer considered a baptised [in this organization], jw, but simply a christain who studies the bible.. and then would continue to attend meetings?.
they couldnt prevent me, its open to the public.. .

If you were baptized under the age of 18, could you hire a lawyer to nullify the "contract" with this corporation?
Minors can't enter into legal contracts~

it's just an ice breaker to become nosy into one's personal life.. ---.
btw, last time i was asked this, no, everytime i'm asked this i reply with: "i'm never coming back".. they seem to hear that.. .

China officially #1 WORLD POWER, surpassed USA in economy and soon will in military.
by EndofMysteries inanother thread related but the title only says, "china is #1", which can mean anything and hence many may not view it who would be intersted in the world power shift.. for the first time since 1945 usa is #2 for economy.

What Is The Ideal Discussion Board For You?
by minimus ini think these boards are great!
it gives us the opportunity to express our feelings, our viewpoints, our concerns, etc.
when we were jws we could not freely do any of that.

It's the content here that has kept me sane.
I can't let this horrible cult ruin my life.

Why is it wrong for Christians to celebrate Christmas?
by james_woods inthis was inspired by terry's thread.... it is something that raises many questions about the jw belief system.. .
for one thing - the bible certainly explains all the details of the christ birth.
it certainly does not tell people to avoid celebrating it with feasts, customs, etc.

The simple reason is that it makes Jehovah sad now.
