Annoying double standard...

i've watched a little bit of mtv lately and it's been absolutely bugging the crap out of me as i watch these inane music videos: men can be physically unattractive but still talented musically and get recognition, not the same for women!

they have to be perfect looking in every way on top of being able to at least carry a tune.

i'm sick of watching beyonce writhe and christina strut around half naked.

SINGLE- 30`s I've been single for almost 3 years now. I was with my ex-husband for 10 years. What I like about my situation is that I am no longer owned by someone. LOL I don't have to answer to anyone! BUT to be honest it is not all that great being single. Single mother, work a full time job and have little time to myself or just plain adult time with friends. I miss what I have never had and that's love. I don't feel I have completely healed from my previous relationship.... Hey, I do date a little, but I think at present I am a little reserved.

What do you hate about your job?

normally i love my job, but at 4.50am this morning my alarm went off for me to get ready for work and i hated it so much.

i've been off for 2 weeeks, and my first shift back is a 1ohr shift on a sunday morning.

its enough to make me wish i was getting up for a meeting instead!!!

I agree woman bosses are a bit more meanBut I find that having a woman boss makes the chances of a promotion much more promising.
I pretty much love everything about my job-if I could change one thing it would have to be the commute.

I like Ayn Rand a lot. Favorite: Dean Koontz

She is one of my all time favorites. It seems to me that Dean Koontz is a winner; do you have a book recommendation?
I have a few Ayn Rand books, but I haven't had the time to sit down and read them. I have 3 other books to finish first.
Atlas Shrugged is my favorite of all her books. It's long but worth the read. I had a hard time getting thru the first 50 pages-after that I couldn't put the darn thing down! Didn't want it to end!Very powerful book. It really made me take a long hard look at my life. It's been hard to find a good read since I finished that book.
A very good friend of mine is considered one of the top (if not the top) world experts on Ayn Rand and objectivism.
When can I meet her/him?? Please schedule a meeting Who is the friend? I think to be an expert in objectivism life would be very fulfilling.
The Fountainhead is another good one.

I loved "Me Talk Pretty One Day". I couldn't stop laughing when I read the chapter about trying to explain Easter to a bunch of people from differant countries.
I may just have to get this one, I could use a good laugh. Never thought of trying to explain Easter... a bunny that comes in the night to hide eggs and candyLOL

My initial thoughts on this subject is: Why do you feel the need to be part of a "congregation"? Do you feel that this is absolutely neccessary?
Need-no not really just wondering what it would be like to go to a meeting at one of these congregations. They would prob. toss me out the first time-with that said, I still would like to go- if not only to "just go". Neccessary-no, once again Just wondering what it is like.
