What do Muslims Really Think - UK Documentary
by cofty inchannel 4 have commissioned a study into attitudes among british muslims.. the documentary starts in an hour from now at 10pm.
if you watch it live or on 4od please share your thoughts.. unlike many other surveys of muslim opinion, which have predominantly been done by phone or online, icm used face-to-face, in-home research to question a representative sample of 1,000 muslims across great britain.
icm also used a “control sample” to compare what british muslims thought with the rest of the british population.. at the top-line level, the survey suggests that a mainstream british muslim majority have similar values and attitudes to the wider british public on issues such as support for british institutions and a feeling of belonging to britain.. but looking deeper into the results, a chasm develops between those muslims surveyed and the wider population on attitudes to liberal values on issues such as gender equality, homosexuality and issues relating to freedom of expression.

As a father of two and having exited the cult a couple years ago I say cut them loose. Life's short God dammit.
My wife and I have made it perfectly clear to my mother that if she decided to shun us if we ever got dfd that she'd be the one losing out, as shed be the one to cut her relationship with her grandchildren.
You don't deserve to be treated this way oh and I would tell your husbands ex to royally F@#k off!

My old congregation was supposed to be getting a new hall to share with another congregation 10 miles away. This was at least 6 years ago. The other hall was worth a lot more and has been sold for a couple years now, so they're left sharing our old one.
Still no sign of the new one being built anytime soon!

To those who attended, attendance up or down at your memorial?

Asked the mum last night. Attendance was around the 185 mark. The last on I remember a couple years ago was about 167. It was like that for a couple years but before that I recall a few years of over 200. -

Wouldn't be much of a 'Natural' disaster if it was caused by a super human power.
It was always 'time and unforseen occurrence befalls us all', whenever it came up in any conversation or meetings I attended, with a little Satan using these to try our faith thrown in for good measure.

There was a ton of us living double lives, some still are. This was a mere 10 years ago in a fairly rural area of the UK. I'm pretty sure the numbers are even higher in the cities where people are more readily able to access things like a decent nightlife ;) -

Elders at the gates

so, there they are again, for their required visit before the memorial.
i don't like it, you never hear from them, only in the week before the memorial.

Same here tiki. As it's the last Saturday before the big event lol, I thought we may get something but no, not even a whiff of the elders.
My father in law did give my wife an invite last week saying: ' I know you probably wont come but here's an invite anyway'!
