Is the WTS effectively 'pimping out' sisters?
by Simon ini can't remember the topic with the discussion about the talk where they suggested that sisters should only consider ministerial servants as potential marriage partners but think about the implications more.. are they trying to use the potential affections of sisters to enourage brothers to do more and work harder?.
isn't this a form of 'pimping out' the sisters by limiting their attention to the people contributing to them?.
it seems to cross a line to me but i guess it's not vastly different to "only marry another jw".. what do you think?.

I think the GB are taking some things for granted here...
They are supposing that the single brothers in the Cong are attractive, whereas in reality there are more likely to be nampy pamby mummies boys with no personality.
Also they have supposed correctly that yes the brothers want to have sex as soon as possible. But have not thought that the sisters want the same. The GB seem to imagine congregations full of single, submissive, blushing sisters with no sexual desire at all. Whereas in fact the sisters want to get laid just as much as the brothers. Since single brothers are in short supply who cares weather they are MS or not?

therefore we must steer clear of popular music because of the secrect demonic lyrics that it contains!!.
of course everyone nodded in agreement and the study conductor thanked him for his "fine" comment!.

their beliefs and practice's don't tally- tonights book study
by purrpurr intonights book study in part is about jesus throwing out the merchants and money lenders in the temple... how do they manage to tally that up with asking for funds for all their various projects?
it seems hardly a meeting goes by without some kind of money plea?
don't they realise that they are doing the same thing that jesus got so angry about and threw out of the temple?

i thought all the embarssing books were supposed to be thrown out?

including studies in the scriptures.
i thought the order from on high was that these were to be destroyed or taken away?

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.
