Or so says the JW's around me who heard it from someone who apparently "knows"
I'm no expert in the music of prince so perhaps someone else can tell me, does the songs of the WT sound similar to princes work?

so over the course of three days he had a trial which doesn't seem to have bothered him much.
he got whipped ok that would have been agony and then put on a torture stake/ cross/ whatever yes that would have been hell.
but he was on it for a day and the whole thing lasted for three days.

He got whipped OK that would have been agony and then put on a torture stake/ cross/ whatever yes that would have been hell. But he was on it for a day and the whole thing lasted for three days. During the whole time he knew that it was for a noble cause (apparently) and that he would be resurrected once he died. He also knew his reward would be to rule over the universe too.
Now compare that to someone who spends years with cancer, getting weaker and weaker with the pain getting worse and worse, with their body packing up and living with the indignity of it all. Knowing all the while that once their dead no one will give them a second shot at life.
Does it really compare?
when i was an all-in, younger, somewhat uber-dub - i envisioned the governing body as spending 16 to 18 hours a day at the bethel library, with their noses in the bible and associated research books.
sky-j was propelling his holy spirit directly at them, maybe opening the book to the right page or paragraph, and zap, new light.. when i learned that these dudes only met on wednesday mornings, for as little as 10 minutes, and spent the rest of their time managing and traveling, it was quite a letdown.. anyone have such thoughts of our guardians of doctrine?.
When I was a child I thought that the GB went into a room on their own and that Jehovah would speak to them directly, drama style, a big booming voice telling them what to put in the mags.
It was a great disappointment to learn that they just decided that's all, and even just voted on doctrine.
i've read in an article on that in 2001 prince wanted director kevin smith to make a movie based on his album the rainbow children.
but the director dropped out when he realised that it was going to be a recruitment film for jw's including flashing messages on screen like "jesus christ is god's son" etc.
has anyone else heard this before?

Has anyone else heard this before? It sounds like they were planning to use subliminal messages which if true is extremely unethical. It makes me wonder if the JW's use it in their own films?
when i was a teenager in the borg i was a dyed in the wool, goody two shoes, squeaky clean,"spiritual " sister.
alot of my peers around me were rebelling and going off the rails but not me.
i was constantly praised for this and even felt a little smug about it ha!.
i've just finished reading alan miller's "fade from the truth", i enjoyed it and i love that it's freely available.
so i was thinking of writing a book of my own.
not an account of my life but more a simple step by step look at jw's and what they are really like?
Hi onthewayout,
I didn't know you were "Alan miller". Great book! Everyone should check it out!
PS you have a PM x

But now days I find myself desperately wishing that I had been one of the ones who went out drinking, clubbing and some nice lovely fornications! Instead I waited until my adult life was set in stone before i started to wake up and thus found myself truly trapped inside the Borg.
Am I alone in this? Is anyone else here a former good dub who left the Borg late in life? And if so do you wish that you had rebeled when young?
i booked a double appointment so that she wouldn't be rushed.
i explained that i'd been brought up in the jw's and woken up to what a load of shite it was.
i explained that they have changed the blood card and that the elders in the cong are being told to effectively force people into signing it.
