it's not forever, i just need some time away.
this is by no means a plea for attention.. this board has made me realize i am not alone, with my feelings and thoughts of the org.
however, i need to get my life in order around here - i need to spend time with my husband and children and start finally living for them(and me).

i was wondering if anyone knew why the clergy wore dog collars?.
it bugs me when i see them walking around the shops with it on as in a look at me kind of way surely this is not a bible thing, the same goes for bishops etc and all the garb that they wear is this right.

Pat and Mick are in prison and have managed to file the bars away but now have to work out away to get down
Pat; we can tie the blankets together and shimmy down that way
Mick; That won't work they won't reach the ground
Pat; I know we can use the torch, we shine it out the window and then one of us slides down the beam to the ground
Mick; Are you mental, I know you, half way down you'll turn the bloody thing off and let me fall

ok so i just remembered something this morning that made me laugh really hard and it happened about 12 years ago:.
my family were in the field service one saturday morning.. my little brother did nothing if not piss my dad off as much as possible, not sure if it was on purpose or just a personality clash, but anyway.. i'm pretty sure little bro would not get out at a door and was also possibly doing something mischevious, i.e.
drawing funny yet inappropriate comics to entertain himself and his sisters.. so my dad demands that my bro get out.
Here are some of mine
Brother closing prayer and says "and lord from the heart of our bottoms" instead of...... yip you got it
Me and my pal out chapping the doors up a dimly lit entry and I look at him as he is about the chap the door and he has this big black mark on his face, he says what you laughing at I tell him and he says you have one too. Well we were pissin ourselves laughing when the door opens and we had to say sorry to the person and walk away. Turns out the newspaper we had been reading earlier had smudged onto our hands then onto our faces, oh the laughs
A brother reading on platform comes to the word amphibian but reads it out as amfibam, you had to be there ok
Good thread though

specifically, were you an active jw longer than you have been inactive or out of the organization, whichever applies?
i was active for about 15 years, then faded into inactivity, although never df'd or da'd.
time out hasn't yet caught up with time in, but time out is gaining.
30 years in baptised for 14 of those reaching the heady position of MS
Now almost 7 years out, getting on fine and unlike Tij not missing it

being curious about why people do or act the way they.
do led me to this discussion.
Not that deep sadly, I was just reading alot of Roman stuff at the time and I liked the sound of it, I think it sounds strong
Oh and the pic on the left lets you know I'm not Roman at all

at our special assembly day, there was a visiting speaker from bethel.
don't remember his name, but he was a humorless and austere gentleman who was very clearly a company man.
he said many questionable things, especially in the way he generalized about "the world" and "worldly ones.
WASA that made me laugh, good one
