  did you have the above instead of xmas?.

  we did as a family with about 16 going to it and giving gifts normally feb time.

  now though we have been banned from going as we had xmas this year and you can't have both it would seem.

  It makes me think they want to do these things but can't/not allowed.

  We would have fireworks after the 5th of Nov as we were not supposed to have Guy Fawkes day.

  Weddings

  my daughter (15) has been invited to go to a jw wedding reception with her boyfriend's family and she would like to know what to expect.

  the ceremony is family only so she will just be going to the dinner/dance.

  not sure whether she might be "lovebombed" or shunned (doesn't that sound like a fun evening??

  the archie's in 1969 "sugar sugar"?

  for me it was all about being a kid, summertime, ice cream and the a & w drive in for a hot dog & root beer.

  i hear it on the drive home yesterday and turned it way up.

  I was only kidding pal, I just had my 36 birthday which was nice got some cards from the wife and kids and a few non JW pals.

  I love Led Zep and saw Paige and Plant a few years ago, awesome.

  i used to love break time.

  especially if it was afternoon service, and we stopped at taco bell.

  i used to be damn good at eating tacos in the car without spilling anything.

  My best memory was when a teenage sister slipped down some stairs and her skirt rode up showing her stockings, goodness gracious it took all my will power to hide the tent pole in my trousers.

  Not much else was good about it though.

  just found this site today and as well as being amused, concerned and shocked at some of the stuff i?ve found here, reading the bios and posts of other ex jw?s has in a way made me feel a little bit less alone in the world.

  don?t get me wrong, i?m not an emotionally scared loner, it?s like i?ve finally found someone else to stand outside morning assemble with.

  1993 paid for literature went to donation-based literature.

  mid 1990s no food at assemblies and conventions.

  Hee, hee, I knew one too, I would have been proud to have a growth like hers.
