  Another WTS Contradiction!!!

  just a thought that i had at a book study about two weeks ago when the chapter about why god permits suffering from the 'bible teach' book was being covered.

  in paragraphs 12 -14 the wts lays out this ridiculous arguement likening god to a teacher and satan as a student who is disrupting a class.

  the wts says that much like how a teacher might invite a rebellious and disruptive student to instruct the class so as to prove the student wrong....jehovah has allowed satan to operate for a time in order to prove that satan's way is wrong.

  Does the Pope have to apologize to the Muslims?

  i heard today that the muslims want the pope to apologize, and at the same time i have heard muslims say that even an apology would not be enough.

  a world leader of a country, has certain diplomatic concerns about what they say and do.

  however, does a religious leader have these same concerns?

  I do think the timing was bad even though what he said was years old and out of context. However christianity is not faultless either just look at the crusades have we said sorry for that?

  Muslims demonstrate that they are not violent by firebombing churches

  as i said in another post: actions speak louder than words.

  muslims were angered by the pope's quoting a 14th century writer who said that muslims are violent in nature.. in order to disprove this statement many muslims took too the streets shouting violent slogans and burned an effigy of the pope.

  still more muslims demonstrated that they are not violent by firebombing random churches.. yup... actions speak louder than words.

  A family member of mine who is still a dub was delighted at this news, saying the end is upon us and Babylon is going to meet it's end now. But surely if that was the case is Islam not classed with false religion or did I just fall asleep at that bit?

  I still think what he said was very badly timed especially when we think of his position in the world, but what can you expect from an old coffin dodger anyway?

  Who celebrates Halloween?

  i know a lot of christians, not just jws, don't feel comfortable celebrating halloween.

  for me, it's just an excuse to have fun.

  I wouldn't really bother but the kids like it so what's the big deal? They dress up, get some sweets come home watch Haunted House or something and that's it. The older one isn't that keen now anyway as he doesn't see it as that "cool" to be going out now

  However I can see some of the WT points, some kids get real greedy, eh, that's about it really. I don't beleive in ghosts and stuff anyway and make sure the kids are cool with that as well

  they say that in women (physical) looks are the most important factor for attracting a mate whereas for men it is other things eg personality, wealth, status, as if there are a lot more aspects to male existence.

  so how would you choose (or did) choose a mate, eg was a woman's physical side of paramount importance or did you also weigh that seriously against character personality, culture, etc.
